Hello forum, after reading this interview (Yes I know it's a video, but I did read it on text to be sure)

http://www.youtube.c...bed/4XafDczZm_Y

I noticed this:

- Будет ли заделан люк мехвода на ИС-4?
- В 080 вместо ИС-4 будет моделька ИС-4М.

Roughly translated, they say that in the 8.0 patch the IS-4 will use the IS-4M model. Anybody know what that model looks like?

This is all I could find and I couldnt spot a diffrence.

Spoiler

IS-4M is basically what you have now as specs go. I think we'll get visual updates to the model.

IS4-M has the slit from the drivers hatch removed.

Why would they do that? The IS4 looks awesome and performs perfectly fine?

I love the look of the current IS4, the IS4M hull looks as ugly as the ST1 hull. This will be a reason to stop playing it..

just a  buff, justified by "historical accuracy" of the model

Well thing is they couldnt buff the IS4 anymore, so the solution is to replace it with some other model.
The lower glacis will remain, i think but the weak spot in the front will be gone.
Too bad we dont know anything about the armor, maybe someone will find something.

If its hard to hurt frontally then it may get a place in my garage tanks rarely get into my garage anymore they have to be good or somewhat the right play style for myself or its no luck.

I think they may be buffing or replacing some tanks so they stand a chance against the newly introduced tanks heavy tanks are supposed to the biggest force the leader of the pack but in this game its now mediums and tank destroyers

you blind or something?  there will be no drivers "hatch bulge" it will be plain front armor plate. So only weakspot in front will be the HUGE lower plate.

So I presume that this will be like the B2 and the B1? Removing the weakspot on the body.

Is the drivers hatch a weakspot on the IS-4? We have tested this with some different tier 8 tanks and were never able to penetrate there, so if it is a weakspot then only for tier 9+, but some of them have no problem penetrating the frontal plate anyway, so I can not see any buff there. What I must agree on, is that the IS-4M doesn't look as good as the standard model.

Are you kidding? The lower plate is insanely small. Have you ever seen German lower plates??

Anyways, the whole front armor is still a weakspots to all T10 guns.

Have you ever asked a Is-4 guy when you hit his weakspot:
Is your driver dead?
He will probaly say yes. (driver eats shells even when he is dead)

Those hits are always always through the lower plate. And by the way, the IS-4 guy I am consulting is usually the guy I shave, when i meet him in the bathroom :Smile_blinky: . I have never seen a shot through the hatch but a million through the lower plate and also way too many through the upper plate, but the reason for this will be the new TD's.

lool, are YOU blind???

look at the armor schemes and at the picture: the hatch weakspot is still there!!!

also when an is4 angle you can pen the left and right front armor cheecks

and if it doesnt angle you can pen the lower plate, and the weakspots in the turret.

Apparently you are, and looking at your stats, you're probably blind ingame too.

Anyway, it's not there. The hatch was not a weakspot, the slit was. And it's gone.
