Dicker Max... any fun?

knightM's Photo knightM 19 Aug 2012

After 7.5 I don't like to play Marder II any more. Sure it was kinda OP before and it meets lower tiers more now. But games on tier II-III tend to be a bit too chaotic and the slow Marder can't change positions all that well, specially not with nerfed camo on the move and vievrange, so in short it's not so much fun.

I'm looking to put my german TD crew on something else, and only have researched Hetzer, will get Ferdi trough Tiger P eventually but that will take a while.

At the same time I could use some more credits for all those tier 9s I'm buying at the moment.

Dicker Max seems to have nice pen/damage/dpm/gun depression/viewrange and since it's a prem it could earn some credits.

So is it any fun to drive?

I don't have it myself, but it does play like the old Marder II. Great gun, no armour and slow speed. It does however have great view range and amazing gun depression, and it s fairly cheap. But ammo does cost 800 credits per shot, so you'll need to make careful use of your shots to not waste ammo and therefore credits.

the DM is good fun but like all tanks it has some serious drawback mainly armour and accuacy, but like you stated the pros out weigh the cons, it does earn good bank and if used well it is a good tank killer,i fitted mine with a scope camo net and rammer and it easily has covered the costs of these, the depression is its greatest point as you can peak over places that no other tank in the game can and the gun can 2 shot a jagdpz frontally, but remember that in a week the type 62, 59 are goin on sale for a week only so think before you spend your gold....

I have D.Max and i can tell you that if you liked and know how to play with Marder you are going to love this too, it's Marder's big brother.
Keep in mind that it is very good for medium companies too.

What Kostis_Larsson said above is true. If you liked the Marder you'll love the D.Max. Gameplay is really fun, but the only serious drawback is that the D.Max isn't such a good credit farmer as you'd think. The shell costs are huge for a t6, and on average you'll only earn a little more in the D.Max than you do with the Churchill which is half the price.

If a reliable credit farmer is what you want, save your cash and get the Type 59 which will be available in the gift store in a few days...

I really like this TD. Much more fun than in Jgpz E-100 ;p

I like the Dicker Max but it's armour is a joke. Once caught in the open, you are dead. Shell costs are high. Nice td to play though. I also have a Jagdtiger 8.8 and that is a moneymaker. Scored to good winning matches this afternoon scoring about 106.500 and 128.500 credits each and Steel Wall both times. Try that in a Dicker Max....

JT golden is too slow for me. DickerMax has super camo, it is sniper, no frontal tank.

Well thanks all, I know type is coming on sale but I'm not all that sure I want to buy it, cause I find the other tier 8 meds I have very good fun too and they do make ok credits with premium. Getting T-44 soon and that one has similar gameplay style to type. Dickermax offers something different so will probably give it a try.

It is not so good money maker like VIII tier tank. But for me it is really fun to play it!
And that gun is awesome on VI tier + I can aim targets from higher place, cuz gun can lowered really well.
U can have from 15-50 k with premium acc.

it's fun but you can't compare it with marder, unless you want a bitter delusion...

it's damn inaccurate. the marder is not a great sniper either, but hits what you aim at. the dicker doesn't. most times, at least.

marder is awesome due to its impressive mid range alpha... don't expect the same with the D Max... you'll need some shot to kill even tier 6 enemies, and you'll likely be seen by that time. it's a fun TD, but not even close to the marders glory.

Hmmm marder compared to his tier was OP. This compared is balanced. But anyway, I had no problems with shells. Almost always it goes where I want to. Only time of aiming is big for me. I can penetrate even VIII tiers (I did it with VK heavy frontal upper ammor from ~ 90 from long distance).

Dicker Max is kinda useless.
Ammo costs are way to high.
Armour is non existent.
HP bar is low.

Ok camo is quite good, damage is good.
But you can better make profit with StuG III or Jagdpanzer IV.
I sold my Dicker Max, its just not worth it. It credit income and its durability are to low.

20-50 k isn't low for me and it is really fun to play.

I've played along side Kostis, and can confirm the DMax is very good in medium companies. It has an awesome gun for a premium, and chews KV-1S's well before they can spot. Two DMax make a formidable defence.

That's why you never go to open, learn how to hide it.

Practice and patience it's not that hard.
A 100% crew with rammer reloads in 8.02 secs, buy a GLD too and you have a very good TD. Third equipment can be telescope or net, depending on you.

The Dicker Max is very random and annoying, I have killed tanks with a single shell other times I do like 9 damage and the accuracy is crap it keeps under shooting and hitting the ground or it will fly over the target and this is at 200 meters and dead center...but when my Clan use them in a platoon they can be very devastating but again Russian tanks are immune to its shells I have seen kv1-s on 15hp bounce the shells from no more than 50 meters, German tanks I chew up and spit out, Even a Sherman M4 from the side can bounce the AP and HE shells.

Marder is/was good because 2-4 tier players are newbies , with 5-7 tiers dmax has worse . Gun is nice but aiming time terrible , and if sth is going left/right you must change position and start aiming again ... No armour , no speed uphill , and it can not hit many times ... buff is needed
