Hey guys, I got bored (like I do) and decided to open a Thread about a Zombie Apocalypse. Well, i'm not going to you how to survive, not like I've been through one myself but thought rather to see what other people would bring to a Zombie Apocalypse, so no poll, just post 3 Weapons (Main Secondary and Sidearm), 2 Pieces of Equipment (e.g. Rope, Torch, First Aid Kit), a Vehicle {with the exception of Tanks, IFV's, Gunships, Planes and Boats) and a reason why you choose these and even Pictures are Optional

Enjoy

I had that discussion with a fellow recruit a few weeks ago and we noticed that being surrounded by military personnel and equipment would be a big bonus during an apocalypse. Since I got the training for those I would choose a MG3 as main weapon and a G36 Assault Rifle. The MG would be useful for supressing/slaughtering stuff while the G36 would act as a back-up weapon and means for longer range engagements. Equipment would defintately be the NBC-Protection kit we got, in case some mad countries start nuking stuff and some nice medic guy. Add some defensive stuff like barbed wire and folding spades as melee weapons and for entrenching. My vehicle of choice would be a standard 4x4 transport truck to carry tons of ammunition, medical supplies, food and gasoline.

Reason I would choose that stuff - I am trained to use the MG3, G36 and the P8. The P8 sucks, so it's the other two weapons. NBC kit could come in handy since you can use Nerve Gas and stuff then to paralyze/kill zombies and then finish them off. The 4x4 truck would be a mobile resupply and medical station and could also be used to just run over people.

The Machine Gun would also be a good melee weapon if you run out of ammo. A metal encasing and a weight of something around 12kg make it a good club to bust some skulls.

well since people have posted theirs i better post mine hehe

Weapons:
  1: AK-74 Suppressed
  2: FN P90 Suppressed
  3: G18 Suppressed
Equipment:
  1: Night Vision Goggles
  2: Flint and Steel kit
Vehicle:
  1: Aprilia RSV1000

Reasons why: Suppressed weapons to decrease noise they make since Zombies are attracted to noise. AK-74 is a good accurate rifle the suppressor decreasing accuracy but on the good side the noise as well. The P-90 because of it's bull-pup design allows it to be very flexible making going round corners or traversing hallways much easier, the suppressed version is simple, less accuracy for reduced noise. G18 is a good all round machine pistol, and is a great side weapon for when i wouldn't have time to reload my P90 or AK-74, the suppressed version having less accuracy but reduced noise.
Night Vision goggles are also useful, Zombies not only are attracted to Noise but light as well, so the Night Vision goggles come in handy for when night time approaches and it's too dark to see with your eyes. Flint and Steel kit to help make fires when i want to cook uncontaminated meat or trying to keep myself warm.
The Aprilia RSV1000 is a Motor Cycle, so unlike cars i can actually maneuver threw traffic congested areas, and the fact that it's number 1 in the top ten motor cycles in 2010.

Also guys try keep this realistic, so unfortunately no Fat-mans, laser or weapons that don't exist (lightsabers included).

Why survive a zombie apocalypse, only to be the last man on the planet? I'd rather just go out gaming :)

Why everyones thinking about killing them while you could hide and survive?

Step 1. Find empty, modern mine that you can stock up nicely.

Step 2. Get huge stockpile of food, water, maybe some weapons.

Step 3. Go to the mine.

Step 4. Wait.

Step 5. When zombies are dead, go out of the mine and find some hookers.

Step 6. Start you're own nation.
