Why survive a zombie apocalypse, only to be the last man on the planet? I'd rather just go out gaming :)

Why everyones thinking about killing them while you could hide and survive?

Step 1. Find empty, modern mine that you can stock up nicely.

Step 2. Get huge stockpile of food, water, maybe some weapons.

Step 3. Go to the mine.

Step 4. Wait.

Step 5. When zombies are dead, go out of the mine and find some hookers.

Step 6. Start you're own nation.
Genius
Besides, you shouldn't worry about zombies guys, if any come up, WG will nerf them anyway...

now that's an idea, WG make a game called World of Zombies, where you have to buy weapons and survive a zombie apocalypse in an MMO atmosphere hehe

I would've have had 2 Deagles & a RSASS rifle.

Vehicle? E-50M, but all controls are in the turret. I'd probably modify the engine to make it run on some plant oil so I'd never run out of gas or something.
A house on wheels, hooray.

Something like this:

http://www.militaryf...wning-m1917.jpg

For whenever I'd have to mow down a whole horde of them without having to worry about reloading or the gun overheating    :Smile_veryhappy:

And as for the car, the most obvious choice would be of course an indestructible Toyota Hilux!  :Smile_veryhappy:

I had that discussion with a fellow recruit a few weeks ago and we noticed that being surrounded by military personnel and equipment would be a big bonus during an apocalypse. Since I got the training for those I would choose a MG3 as main weapon and a G36 Assault Rifle. The MG would be useful for supressing/slaughtering stuff while the G36 would act as a back-up weapon and means for longer range engagements.

WHO exactly do you want to suppress and slaughter? Suppressing fire against zombies is utter waste of time, since they don't take cover. And blasting away with a machine gun won't get you far, as long as you don't have a built-in aimbot programmed to headshots.

Reason I would choose that stuff - I am trained to use the MG3, G36 and the P8. The P8 sucks, so it's the other two weapons. NBC kit could come in handy since you can use Nerve Gas and stuff then to paralyze/kill zombies and then finish them off.

You clearly haven't seen enough good zombie movies / read enough good zombie novels.

The Machine Gun would also be a good melee weapon if you run out of ammo. A metal encasing and a weight of something around 12kg make it a good club to bust some skulls.

And after using it as a club for 5 - 10 times you/your arms are totally exhausted. Bullshit idea, the folding spade you mentioned is a much better melee weapon, as is a hatchet (and both tools are useful for other purposes as well).
When it comes to fire arms: choose something that does real harm. The G36 does not. If confronted with a horde of zombies, you want something to reliably kill them and save ammo at the same time. One shot, one kill. Rather short to medium distance. Pick a semi-automatic carbine or a hunting rifle (M1 Carbine, M14 and its various offsprings) with a rather common and widespread calibre. At least 7,62mm - you want to destroy the zombie's brain with one shot or in the worst case cripple him so you can escape- screw 5,56mm guns like the G36. Too little damage done per shot against an enemy that does not give you any second chance.

Still, that you are trained with the weapons you describe indeed is a factor to be considered.

@all those guys who want to use high tech electronical toys:

What you gonna do once the energy cells are depleted? And we are talking about a zombie apocalypse, not a local outbreak which you might or might not be able to survive/escape/wipe out  :D

Just watch "I am legend". And please if you're smart, if you value your continued existence, if you have any plans about seeing tomorrow — there's one thing you never — ever to do, don't drive Toyota.

Maybe I should think again about my never-going-to-happen-plan-B.  :Smile_sceptic:

Yes, the mine is best place to survive but I'm seriously screwed if I run out of supplies so I need better place to stay safe and hopefully close to supplies...

I just take over supermarket! Kill anything that bites & transform it to inpenetrable fortress! Perfect plan!  :Smile_trollface-3:
