I am about to give in and buy me a T8 premium tank.
I do make credits (prem account) but saving up for new T9 and/or T10 takes bloody ages.
(props to the design of this bit of the game.)
But I am not willing to splash 10k gold or similar so my choices are either the type in a few days or the Superpershing.
Type:
pro; it plays similar to the T44 (which I like. Note that I like all T8 meds though)
con; chinese crew. (no retraining of crews)
SP:
pro: gun depression (at least; this is my assumption) and good frontal armour. I can train my US med crews in it.
con; slow. plays like a heavy.
Basically a toss up it seems.
What are your recommendations and why?
Which is the better creds earner?
Thanks in advance.

SuperPershing - amazing armor, good gun, slooooow. Type - fast, good gun, solid front armor.
SuperPershing is more heavy than medium, Type is like T-44 but a little weaker. What suits you?
Also I think SuperPershing is cheaper.

Well i voted type since you like meds because SP is more of an agile heavy than medium and it lacks firepower (since it is supposed to flank...)but it fully compensates with it's armour.I'm not sure what i would choose, but anyway i think both are worth a try.

A lot depends on your playstyle. If you know how to play a heavy tank with weak everything except front, then the superpershing is a nice tank. Type is average in every aspect (speed, gun, armour) but that is what makes it so universal.

Bought the SP.
Mainly because I feel the ability to train my (US med) crews is worth a lot.
Also; the type is a tad more expensive on top of which you need to spend gold for 100% crews.
(or creds for a mere 75% crew)
After 2 dozen or so battles I can safely state that the SP is a solid credit earner.
Perhaps a wee bit less than the type (I guesstimate to have a net profit of 40k-50k with the SP) but crew training is worth much too.
Thanks for helping me to make up my mind.

I was in the same boat. Always short of silver since I got my tier 8s :(
I bought type 59 and I really enjoy it. A couple togetHer and you can play as a nice team and have lots of fun. Win or lose. And you always earn credits. Type is the most fun I've had on this g for certain.

M26 Pershing and T-54 are two of my most favourite tanks.
If I were in this position I would pick the Super Pershing, because Super Pershing is a different approach that the original, whilst Type59 is an exact copy just lower tier stats.
So not the Type59 because T-54 is already a favourite. Super Pershing is a real new tank in the garage for me.
But my choices in tanks were never considered rational =)

I play them both;
The Type 59 is a nice angled tank with a good topspeed, decent acceleration and on that was a good mobility. The Superpershing's mobility is like a heavy tank with a 10:1 power to weight ratio. The gun penetrated 5 CM more than the SuperPershing, but does 10 less damage with a higher RoF.
SuperPershing dmg/m: 1756
Type 59 dmg/m: 1725
As for the armour, the Type has some nice angled 100 mm thick armour on the front hull, and a very good angled turret armour of 200 mm. This tank is great to flank heavies of its own tier and above and can go head on head with lower tiers. If the Type gets hit in the side this can cause ammo rack detonation.
The armor of the SuperPershing is less sloped but ticker (176 mm in the front, but crap in the sides and rear), but if it happens you get penetrated it can get into the spaced armour which results in a 0 damage hit.
They can be compared pretty well, both with a good gun and decent armor, however I would personally prefer the Type, but only due to his mobility.
