I can understand that using gold ammo in a TC or Clan war, but in random games its just stupid.

I am a premium account player and I use gold for everything except gold ammo (some may say more fool me).

Been playing my Maus for a whilst now and these past few days getting slaughtered by T9 and T10 tanks using gold ammo and thats not arty fire.

Now Its not a case of wanting to be 'invincible' or anything trivia like that because a Maus is far from invincible if you know where to hit it, and yes all tanks are falabul. But they do have key roles to perform in a tank battle. With the Maus, its armour is its strength, speed is its weakness, deminish the strength with gold ammo and you have a flawed tank which costs way too much to maintain, gold ammo is making the game hugely unbalanced to the pointi am now thinking why bother.

If the stratergy is to get people spending more money in random games and have as many people as possible riding around with gold ammo so they dont have to be as skilled, then its a sad day for the game.

I say ban gold ammo in randoms, and reserve that for TC or Clan wars and get everyone fighting on an even keel otherwise you are going to loose players and the game will go into decline because greed over-rides gameplay and you will loose a previoulsy happy to pay for premium account.

Premium tanks are there for making money and exp which in turn you spend gold to convert to general exp. Gold ammo is a bigger money spinner obviously because its a consumable. Where as a premium tank is a one hit wonder (all be it a big one hit).

Bro u need to learn how to play with maus
Only few players are using gold ammo in random and in 90% its on e100 just for taking x2
T9 tanks can easily penetrate you so its not gold just their skill

over 20 games today and in 10 of them the guy that killed me confirmed using gold ammo. Also I ended up asking people before the game starts if they using gold ammo a lot more people confirming it.

its not a case of learning to play a Maus, and I admit I am no where near as good as most in the game, yes I use the angles to reduce the chance of penetration on me, yes I use cover whilst re-loading, yes I turn my turret after shooting and no I dont run into combat solo unless I can avoid it.

The hard fact is MORE shots are penetrating and the tank itself is less durable with more people using gold.

But we don't use gold shells in random, last time i use it it was like 1943

Gold ammo use in random battles is very low indeed and those that do use it seem to need it :Smile_veryhappy:

Maybe he should also take into concidération that some person will say yes I use gold shell but it might be a lie.
They say Hey! This Maus was afraid of that, I will say that I use gold shell.
We can not definitely exclude the Troll factor.

I find it hard to interpret the fact that we can use this this, my knowledge of the Maus has weakspot.
Why use something like this ? Just do not take the time to carefully aim. Cause they are lazy!
Just walkaround with your tank and shoot everything they see knowing they can penetrate any object...

But WG get money for that, so why ban it from random :Smile_sceptic:

dont take them serious, those are misinformation! by the way banning Gold ammunition from random battles will be a good step to keep players happy!
i haven't played the game myself since 7.3!
7.4 with new mods game was boring most of times
7.5 did little good about it
8.0 forget those battles where your mates been cooperative, sit and watch people climb hills and walls

R.I.P WOT&solid gameplay &moments of fun

Dun no be so rude. 44% win ratio after 370ish matches is prefectly acceptable for a maus driver. I'm sure he has just been extremely unlucky and has only met people in randoms who use gold ammo.

(but then again you need gold ammo to kill gold maus :Smile_trollface-3: )

I thinks that's said a lot and I happen to agree with it but it's only based (as far as I know) on I don't use gold ammo, I don't know people who use gold ammo, gold ammo is expensive therefore gold ammo is rarely used.

Has any one seen any stats to back it up?

Can't blame them, especially if they're playing the Daily Double XP. More damage=More XP. You should use HEAT rounds too for the daily double so you can crit the other wallet warriors. Don't use it all the time. Just for daily double XP.

If a guy wants to throw away real money shooting me, I say let him.

It won't stop me from killing him first though.

Never played Tier X but been in a few tier X matches and I spot your mistake right away. "With the Maus, its armour is its strength" WRONG!!!
Answer - Teamwork is strength.
Seen in more often than I like, HT tankers in higher tier matches think they can boss their enemies about, drive their "invincible" tank right into enemy trying to destory them single-handly and got vapourise before their second reload.
Not trying to say you drive that way but please, before you start blaming on gold ammo or wallet warriors, look into your mirror and ask yourself this question.

"What was my mistake? Did I play for my team or did I expect my team to play for me because I drove a tier X HT."

You should take in consideration that your tank is a shell magnet. Everybody thinks "oooh Maus trap! Let's get it!" So every match your Maus will be rained upon as everybody wants a piece of you. Some will just ignore other targets just to get to you. Out of 10 shots from different angles at least 1 will penetrate. Some people know where to shoot, others just spam the trigger hoping for a lucky shot. Get used to it.
P.S. Check how many Steel wall medals you got on your Maus.

i allways troll people that i use gold ammo, gold equimpent i even shit gold :)
But reality is that 99% people don't try to learn where to shoot, when to shoot, how to angle, where are safe, how to use camo etc. etc. etc.

I've used it before for curiosity on how it feels like. Trust me, don't use it other than if you're playing SPG and want more from the daily double. I tried it a few times on a Tiger and noticed the Long 88 misses a lot using APCR ammo (note: miss, not bounce) while using normal AP the 88 doesn't miss. Lesson: It penetrates but your gun will behave like a D10T instead of an 88 (it's a silent nerf) so they make you fire more rounds and waste more money. But yeah, it can penetrate the front turret of even a hull down T34.

I have no problem penetrating the maus from the front with regular ammo. Just aim that small lower hull parts between the flaps.

I stopped caring. My own experience with Gold ammo is that it's no miracle ammo. You still have to hit the target pretty precise so you could argue that regular ammo would penetrate in the same situation.

Ofcourse you get the crazy situation in lower tiers when a -2 tier pens you which shouldn't be possible. If that happens i make him a primary target and he's dead very fast.

I also use gold myself on the E100 (if i play that, i don't double it on most days anymore) when encountering a IS4/7 but i don't see that as unfair advantage as in an E100 you get p0wned most of the times when meeting the ruskies.
