Some calculus:

For Belgium (your standard Western European Country):

Phone: 10€ -> 2280gold + 15% = 2622gold. But, Mopay is 2€/minute (in the best case), so it's 12€ for 2622 gold, that means 1 gold = 0.00457€ (in the best case)
The rest: 9.95€ ->2500 gold, no extra costs, so 1 gold = 0.00398€

That is a considerable difference in favour of wire transfer, credit card or paypal...

That's because nobody want to buy gold via phone, it's stupid and expensive.
If you want to buy big ammounts, use CC. If you want to buy to have some for demounting stuff, send one SMS (the cheapest one).

Nice...
"All players who make a payment using a mobile (including SMS) or landline phone...blabla"
..but how we can do that if we have NO option for buying gold via sms? Please make a deal with contry's from Balkan(Ex-Yugoslavia), then we can all discuss about it. Your promise for balkan contry's step by step going in history....

It's this kind of thing that made me and my m8's leave WOT for 9 months, I just recently came back and tbh am seeing the same thing, money grabbing without any care for the customers, it leaves a nasty taste.

Lol no thanks did it once , 850 gold for 5 euro , what a joke ,
it's a virtual currency that is not pegged to any valued currency , once you start giving equal amounts of gold for the same amount of cash then people will use it , not now ,

I know that you will earn less for these individual pieces of gold as the phone companies want their cut compared to gold bought by visa , but it's hardly impacting on your costs as gold is free to make

Right now my options are

850 gold for 5 Euro phone credit plus 1:50 service charge
or
1500 gold for 6:95 on my visa
It really is a no brainer WG

Sort it Out WG as people like me have 20 Euro free credit a month due to getting deals like free texts/weekend calls and internet , currently that's not being used except for week day calls
That could be spent on gold if the prices were not absolutly inflated

Gotta love WG concept, same as the banks, have us pay for a gold they create out of thin air.

Same money grabbing shows in the Gift Shop.

A (potential reselling of) retail box (with costs/profit to publisher, distributer, retailer and potential reseller) still offers better value than buying direct from  WN(WG) Gift Shop "offers"....

sms/phone payment method is a very good option for people that:
1. have money on prepaid they are not using (using your phone rarely while using the most economic prepaid method).
2. they want to buy small amount of gold this one time, or they don't have any money to buy more.
3. they can't use any other payment method for some reasons (for example children).

Wargaming can't give you gold per money ratio similar to the other payments, due to the phone company profit margin.

If you don't qualify for above points, just don't use phone/sms method and stop whining.

Thanks WG but I've decided not to but more gold until Brittish tree arrived or U balanced the German line. Found it hard to survive running only random battle no platoon/company in higher tier.
Perhaps leaving WG, we'll see further on.

Do one WG.
How about rewarding your existing customers anyway with a normal gold payment bonus instead?
