LB-1 has much better aim time than the D10T, so get it, don't think twice ;)

Wow - I completely forgot to compare aim time, I only checked re-load... what a buffoon!

Defending on Sand River - the T44 might not have the best gun depression but it is not so bad that I and an Obj 416 held off 5-6 tanks almost alone at F9/0
Dmg 3544 assisted 1574, 2 kills 6others damaged and 8 spotted but only worth a 1st Class badge.... plus some new badges but why no Confederate??

Don't bother with the 122mm gun waste of XP

Need 50k to unlock the 2nd best gun with 175 pen while using a tier 6 gun with 144 pen. Theres tier 6 tanks with over 200 pen. Good balance.

It's a more well rounded tank though. The problem is that certain t10 tanks can't be penetrated from the side even xP

No worries, that 144 pen feels like allot more.  I just recently completed that grind and it was just fine tbh. Found the T44 a very very enjoyable stock tank.

That's T44 in a nutshell, at least it was for me, before I sold it as soon as I unlocked T54.  Nice tank, shame about the useless gun penetration.  Oh and it exploded, A LOT.  only tank I ever felt the need to install  wet ammo rack over improved vents (I felt I'd rather drop vents than gun rammer or stabilizer to make room for it).  Not sure if it's still basically a mobile ammo rack, but it was back when I drove it.

Hey guys, What do you think of the 122mm gun? I know the LB1 is far better but, for the lolz does it work or it's useless?

Terrible DPM, aimtime and depression makes for a bad combo. If you want to play with a 122mm on a tier 8 medium the T-34-2 does a better job.

I found the 122 to be fine, I got my Ace Tanker with it.

Also in Tier X games you only get to have one shot, so the extra Alpha damage is nice.

And you can one-shot arty with it, but it does take A LOT of getting used to.

You blithering idiots from WG, give this tank a significant pen & alpha damage for this tank or get it rid off from the game!!! It's virtually useless in tier 10 games. On maps with TDs hidden in bushes it gets obliterated after 2-3 shots. All fkn matches today are in tier 10's, no fkn fun dying after 30 secs. Flanker U say? WG brainless devs had made all maps a corridors for TDs, even "open" maps are corridors, how one can flank in any tank, flew above & between those corridors or what?

Just had a "nice" game:

Guys with big guns that did less damage than myself:

2x T29 (the one was not even familiar with A & D keys on his keyboard, he was just using W & S)

1x T34

1x IS

1x IS3

1x KV3

1x Tiger

1x AMX M4

Total: 8 pcs, 2 of them done 0 dmg. How the hell you can carry? And this was just tier 8 match.

You are trolling, right? This tank stock is the worst stock tank I played so far. The gun it has is barely good vs same tiers, stock engine & tracks makes it slower than IS-3 for example. It gets overdriven by any other medium tank of the same tier or even tier 6. Once I was trolled by T-35-85 & lost the duel: the gun on T-34-85 is almost the same as T-44's 1st 100 mm gun (and it's 2 tiers lower ffs!!!), the mobility... that allowed the enemy making me crippled & trolled, he was circling around & I wasn't able to keep up with him on a sandy ground. And this s h i t  meets tier 9 & 10s: Bat-chats, Centurions, Leopards, etc, not mentioning impenetrable from the front tier 10 TDs. This would be the hardest grind I've experienced up to this day.

PS: s. h. i. t.  is  s. h. i. t. not crap, that is my opinion on this tank (so don't change my opinions with your forum bot) & matchmaking you have set for it, dear WG...

I loved the T-44, easily my favourite Russian medium tank so far. I have recently started playing the T-54 here, which doesn't seem too shabby itself. Still got some way to fully elite it, so the LB-1 of the T-44 can't let me judge its tier 9 child. But on the T-44? The LB-1 is an awesome gun, especially with fully upgraded tracks and engine. Don't even bother with the 122 mm in my opinion, unless you're in a platoon or an improvised wolf-pack with a random player (good luck with that btw).

In tier 10 matches you need to make some use of APCR ammo, since some higher-tier tanks have too trollish armour for your 175 mm penetration. Nevertheless, if you stick to wolf packs, use your speed to change flanks and stay out of trouble, you can perform even there. Just do what you're always supposed to do: don't let them shoot at you in the first place. Stay behind the cover of friendly tanks, sneak in whatever shots you can, and don't hesitate to shoot enemy tracks to immobilise them and get some bonus XP off that too. Depending on your setup you can consider some minor scouting as well, as long as you don't die.

Remember kids, dealing damage yourself isn't the only way to be a good contribution to your team.

Yeah the grind is not very good on the T44, I don't know why but the same gun you had on the T34 85 and the T43 with 2.3 aiming time goes up to 2.9 on the T44 that's a major issue during the begining of the grind, I don't know why... But if my memory is correct you are able to mont the vstab, rammer and the third equipment you use.

The second track improve the soft stat a lot, the tank feel way more mobile once you have them...

The 100mm D10T is the second good news you get on the tank, but still horrible aiming time and bad accuracy, the LB1 on the other hand just make the tank.

To be honnest when I play this tank in T10, I see the same weakness that the pershing has, low dpm+low penetration, you can't afford to miss a shot in those game.

But I don't think this tank is crap, It will do the job, It's not the best T8 medium but it's not the worst.

Oh and by the way if you want to try hard grind I suggest you to try the M46 patton, if you don't use the improved suspension you're stuck with the T20 gun until you've unlock the first track and then you can mount the pershing gun and the 105 need a lot of experience to be unlock, that's way harder than the T44 grind.

Must say I love my T-44, it bounce stuff regularly and the maneuverability and gun is great fun! The only downside is the MM it might get into...

The T-44 needs the M-63 gun or buff LB-1 to around 185-190 pen.  If it currently has a gun that can't reliably penetrate the sides of some T9(E-75, ST-I) tanks then its mostly worthless.

T-44 is a great tank infact I would say it is a close call between the Pershing for the best T8 medium it feels more agile which makes it easier to carry games when your bottom tier.

finished the grind for the T-54 and got my 3rd MoE in the last few games
