if a store says it needs to be unpacked just quote this by all means,
but u do need the box and the packaging in tact when returning said item. if the box is ripped or damage they can say no.

I bought a Logitech once, the ergonomics were great, but it broke down real fast, exchanged it for this Speedlink one here, rather cheap yet very reliable:

This is nice and all, but why do you assume UK law applies where I live? Around here, the general policy is that electronic items that were ordered online can be returned within 14 days, in the original packaging (not necessarily sealed). Brick and morar retailers that sell their products in the store can set their own return policy.

Bought 5 of them, should last me at least 10 years.
After that I got a problem.

That is the best gaming mouse ever. Bought it when BF2 got released and have it since then. From time to time I think that I need a new mouse (cheap ones, expensive ones etc...) and go buy one and after a week or so I go back to my really really really used looking MX 518. Simply the best!

I'm not entirely sure how you'd use a mouse with your ring finger resting on the table, unless you used it by spreadeagling your whole hand flat and kind of 'smearing' the mouse around.

Nooo... I have the pinky and ring finger on the right, the thumb on the left, and the index finger and middle finger on the mouse.

Part of being in the "wonderful" EU, most of us have similar laws regarding distance selling.

That's what I mean - surely everyone does that?

I started gaming waay before mice had middle buttons (way before mice really) so I rest my first and second fingers on the two buttons, with (like Trilandian) my ring and pinkie fingers up against the side of the mouse. To move or press the wheel I take my first finger off the button and use that.

I think it's very comfortable. Would be a lot more uncomfortable and inconvenient to spread my index and middle finger between both buttons and squash my ring and little finger on the right side of the mouse.

I did that for a long time also. But as gaming mice (and large mice in general) became more common I switched. I also had a few 3 button mice before mouse wheels came along where this grip was necessary.

And how come you can't return it if you bought it today? Next time don't buy from a store that don't let you try the new thing you bought.
Also remember that when you change mouse or keyboard it can take a few days/week to get used to the new one.

To bad that the only thumb controlled trackball which is still getting produced, is the cordless Logitech M570 :/
