one other strange thing since we got the new after battle report
in most of the battles, the top player in the losing team earns less XP than the lowest player in the wining team
here they are:
Spoiler
top guy in losing team - 381XP
bottom guy on wining team - 474XP
Spoiler
top guy in losing team - fired 18 shells; hit 15, penetrated 14; damage done 3747; did 1 HP dmg to allied but that's excusable
bottom guy in wining team - fired 2 shells; hit 0, pen 0; damage done 0

basically the guy that did nothing in the match earned more XP than the guy who did the most work in the enemy team, just because his team won the match (for him)
how come!?

this doesn't happen every time, but regularly enough to have caught my eye
so hmm what do you think? is losing team actually punished for losing the match, or ...

maybe this needs a new thread?!

I've also sometimes seen people get higher xp than me in battles despite having done only half as much damage, no capping or scouting either. Reward system is very strange.

That bonus is very small, it doesn't make up for the difference, read my above post.

The difference is less than 20 XP... I doubt that bonus is that tiny.

You're comparing a tier 10 vs a tier 8.

Can anyone tell me what is 'damage caused upon lighting' ?
Is that damage done by others to targets they would not see themselves?
Example: scout drives to bush, arty hits enemy tank because scout is spotting. Scout gets 'damage caused upon lighting' ?

Did the fight took place on your cap? Because he might spotted them and then earn some experience for that.

Yes. And it was about time to display it. I will have fun when I try to achieve new "highest damage upon lighting" personal records with my scouts.

Broken reward system is broken, or maybe WG loves bots a little bit too much.

I thought everyone knew about this? At least we got now visual confirmation of our suspicions.

I got 298 xp (base xp) while being stuck during most of the battle. I got almost 2K (obviously crap but still) during 5x event when one of my ram sticks died (and I had to find out which one) - during that time I obviously neither fired or (playing arty) was nowhere near the enemy.

I tried before to argue for xp and cr reward system more reflective of individual contribution but...

so, explain what I did wrong

tier 8 dude did nothing in the battle and still got more XP than the tier 10 who played best in the loser team
and I mean nothing ... fired 2 shells that hit squat, then died, nothing else, no scouting, no spotting for his team, not trying to cap ... nothing

From server's perspective, your vehicle was afk in the base during the battle. Bit strange that the xp was that high though. Is this unmodified base xp?

Exp for scouting:
If you can spot a target yourself and you damage it. -> 100% exp
If you can't spot a target and damage it while it is spotted trough other people. -> 50% exp, the other 50% are divided between all people that spot the target.
-> If a scout spots a target alone he gets 50% exp for every damage done to the target.

Team bonus:
Every destroyed enemy tank adds an amount of exp (equal to the exp you would get for killing it from full hp without bonuses for modul/crew-damage or tier-difference) to the team-pool.
At the end of the match the team-pool is divided trough all players (usually 15) and each one gets the same amount of exp from it. (No matter if the player is dead or alive at the end.)

For the OP:
Different tanks have different exp-bonus for "participating" which is granted at the moment the match starts. Maybe the Exp-bonus for the M48A1 is higher than for the AMX50B, so you can't bring it down to the "surviving" bonus only.
In addition the damage the AMX50B has done is very small compared to the overal hp-pool of the enemy and because of the team bonus.
As tier X tanks have an average of 2000hp there is arround 30,000hp in the pool. The damage the AMX50B has done is worth arround 1.1% of that pool while the teambonus for every player is 6.6% of that pool.
That 1.1% the AMX50B gained with his one shot could be indeed less than the bonus for surviving, because 1.1% isn't much.

Dear WG, this is exaclt the things that we in the educated part of the world, see as amateurish.
We are smart anough to not like such things.
You WG, on the other hand, does not seem to understand that we are TO smart to be fucked by you like this.

WG, it is your responsability to forestall or limit the dissent that your desissions bring forth.
You have fixed the MM, why not at least try to fix some of the other things that are killing your game.
Your playerbase IS what makes you, without us (and our money) you are nothing!

Oh, not at all. It's just competitive players being rewarded an honour of playing with people who "play for fun". Screw exp if you know you've contributed a nice battle action as a background scenery to the real objective, shooting butterflies and ramming trees.

The guys have simply stumbled over some kinks that the powers that be stand poised to iron out.

In reality, at this point it probably doesn't really matter what WG think of their decision to include a more detailed battle report in this patch. They must realise that removing it at this stage would result in a sh*tstorm almost as big as the one for the Stalingrad Special. People have wanted this for a LONG time.

(for those who don't remember the special (somehow) or didn't hear about it)

I think you get a small exp-bonus for surviving the battle.. the AFK T62A did survive, the AMX50B did not...  maybe that is the reason...
