Great tank for flanking and later for hunting down damaged enemies and arties! My only problem is the terrible aiming time and the lack of the Vert. Stab.

Here is my replay:

Bringing your A game. That was the French light tank specificity. Bring your A game and be rewarded.
So WG looked at the stats and nerfed it hard.
Now you have to bring your A game to get an average game...
This 100%
If you make a slight mistake in an AMX youre as good as dead, where as another heavier vehicle may escape a bit bashed up, but if you DONT make any mistakes you can/used to be able to deliver hideous amounts of damage before escaping.
Now the amount of death you can deliver when you dont cock up has been reduced somewhat compared to other vehicles.

I love my Amx 90 ...HAVOC IN A TIN CAN ....I like to support Meds .. this is my formula ...E50 VS E50 + AMX 90 = 1 X E50 - 1 DEAD E50 = HAPPY DAYS

Exactly, great tank for flanking, hunting down, ambushing, but the insane big circle at the middle of your screen is sometimes annoying as f*ck  :Smile_Default:

I also carry some gold ammos so I can basicly challenge enemies frontally too :) But the role itself never is going to change with this little bug.

I've not got one, still like my 13-75 though and am thinking of getting a 13-90, if its anything like the 75 then one hit will break something (engine normally  :Smile_sad: ) and ill go at a snails pace.
The way to play these AMX's is not to start off the game by rushing straight at the enemy but to use your brain a little and wait, then go off down a flank and go hunting as I see this tank (well any light AMX) as a "get in, kill, get out" vehicle, dont try to pick on anything too big, you wont last, even if you do get some shots in, one of their shots can hurt more.
Just find a good tactic and use it, you can do a fair bit with these amx's, your biggest issue is when you run out of ammo and have to do a runner, or if you come up against an opponent who likes to use HE shells as small and agile targets are hard to hit with AP rounds, HE splash can knock your tracks off and can make you a sitting target  :Smile_sceptic:
Last one I came across felt the power of a BL-10 to the side with HE, instant 100-0% rather than my AP round going through or just breaking a track, but its easy to kill those slower moving higher tier TD's due to your agility.

I managed to destroy a T95 last weekend with my 13 90. After defending a cap against T29 and T34 ( I destroyed both - they were already seriously damaged), I rushed and placed my 13 90 right the T95while he was too occupied to shoot against my teammates and boom that was his destiny! One of my best games with my AMX!

I'm finally getting the hang of mine too and WR is creeping up. I must admit though that I carry half gold and half silver ammo and load whichever depending on the average tier I'm facing - the AMX isn't likely to make much profit anyway, so I might as well do some damage!

My 13-90 is set up for scouting:

BIA and Camo on all
Then:

Commander Recon & Repairs
Gunner Snapshot and Repairs
Driver Clutch Breaking and Off Road Driving

Modules are: Vents, Toolbox and Optics.

Currently on 81% fourth skill. Yes I like playing the AMX :)

I have a Batchat as well but still enjoy playing the amx and it makes a brilliant active scout in T8 company games.

No it is not overpowered. For a tier 8 tank, it mainly ends up fighting in tier 10 battles due to its role as a scout/light tank.

Even then, there are still reasons why it isn't over powered in the first place.
  • Horrible aim time
  • No armour
  • High module damage
  • Low crew amount (Easy to kill entire crew)
  • Low health (In tier 10 battles, all arty can kill you in one hit, and most tanks can kill you in 2-3 hits)
  • Low Alpha
  • Low penetration
  • Long reload
  • Bad gun depression/elevation
  • Bad traverse speed (For a light tank)
Every tank is overpowered until you play it. So quit whining about it, go play it and then come back with a whole new opinion of it.

you forgot the fact that it cant do any more than 40 up a slight hill and it has horrific accuracy, so bad that it will miss from 20m away when the reticle is fully zoomed in.

anyone who still thinks auto loaders are OP has obviously failed super hard at learning how to deal with em.

oh and it dosnt even accelerate alot faster than a medium ether. and yet its still a scout in most battes, a job wich is still done way way better by t5 lights.

attacking any t8 med or heavy with a amx 1390 when you need more than 2 out of your 6 shots to finish them is like rushing a t8 in a hellcat, only slower.....

...But now in T8 the tank is more likely a high tier scout where ya gotta spot targets and wait for a good moment to flank and enemy and hit em.....
Exactly my thoughts!

I've tried all kind of approaches with this tank and the one that works best is:
- Never stop!
- Scout up and down a ridge line ducking regurly for cover and spotting all you can. When under cover, turn around and check if someone is coming for you and shoot the hell out of them if that happens

Doing this properly often get's you in the top 5 tanks of the team so not bad

So far this works best but some maps just aren't made for this approach and then you know you're not going to be much help.

Now personally this game style doesn't thrill me one bit but guess it's what it takes to get to the OP BatChat :)

13 90 doesnt do it for me. It's not the tank, it's me. I don't like the playstyle and can't wrap my head around the thing. Abysmal stats, so off to the vendor it goes :)

that's 7 consecutive losses where my team had less than 5 kills :p

That's right, it's an OP tank.
It's very fast, hits quickly and quite strongly (well 6*250 = 1500), it is invisible and has an epic view range (400m)!

About the 3 crew members, I never lost them all (well except drowning), and it's a good thing they are only 3 for the "brother in arms" perk!

How to play it ? easy : 1st, rush some scout spot. Have fun finding them, on some maps, some will give you "scout" achivement (10 ennemies spotted).
Then wait for your arties, TDs, etc... to hardly damage your targets... (you take half xp of every shot).
Then go sneaky in, and kill a bunch. When out of ammo, fall back and reload, disappear again, hit elsewhere.

Type59 isn't a bad tank. But very often, their players are pretty bad.
It's not hard to flank one, track it, and let the arty kiss it, while you plunder it's ass.

Again, wiki talks about mobility, yes it's great, but before being mobile, amx13-90 is a scout.
And there is no better way of scouting than hidden in some bushes at a keypoint of the map.
Have the "Sixth sense" perk, and you'll do some very safe, and very efficient scouting.

Actually, I'm on my 1000th game on this tank. I can't resign to go up and move to that big lorraine :/

Don't go frontally. Don't engage groups (unless you know they have slow turrets).
Scout passively. Do not try sniping unless you are sure you'll be able to take cover really quick.

A good 13-90 is an unseen 13-90. Work with your artillery.

Here's a game I just did : AMX13-90 replay
It's not great in terms of XP (though it's not bad neither : 850 base).
But It shows well a good way to play this tank.

lol i have totally diffrent approach. I prefer active scouting, i want the enemy team to see me all over the map, never knowing where will i pop up again, i zip around whole map (i mean, keeping to "our side" of a map) - it creates distraction, it takes away initiative from enemy team.

Actualy i had one great game yesterday on murovanka, both team had some scouts, but only me and enemy t50-2 didnt die in first minute. Till that t-50-2 was alive we were getting smashed badly, he was lighting me up too much, i couldnt zip around freely. Once t-50-2 got killed, i just gained complete initiative for my team and we stomped them.

About shooting - i take random shots at the beggining just to annoy opposing team and show them i am there to punch holes, and tend to go for killing-runs only at the end or when i see our flank falling, depends on a map.
