Hi all,

I was wondering: isn't it more logical to have to research the V-2-34 engine, as the prerequisite to the T-44, instead of the T-43-100 turret?

The turret has no link with the T-44 design, while the engine is the starting engine on the T-44... Things as it is now, you really don't need to research the engine if you want to grind very fast to T-44, and then magically, when you get a T-44 you have this engine...

I think the tree should be re-arranged so that the T-44 comes out of V-2-34, and the guns stay after the turret.

I am skipping this engine too with my T-43 for this very reason.

I did wonder if it made the initial purchase price of the T-44 cheaper if it was researched and in your depot. But I don't want to take that risk by wasting EXP on it to find out.

It is a long grind to the T44 and the better engine makes the T43 far more nimble and more enjoyable to play. I personally researched the engine and used it while I earned the exp for the T44 and do not consider it a waste at all.

A fully upgraded T43 is a very good vehicle and you should enjoy your time in it because the T44 is not that much better.

I thought engines only gave a little more hitpoints & less chance of engine catching fire and don't do a thing regarding speed, acceleration & turning. Am I wrong?

In regards to the T-43 upgrade engine I think it is 10% chance of catching fire instead of 15% and 460 hit points instead of the stock engines 420 hit points (so 40 more hit points)

No extra hp with a new engine. Chance of fire % are stated for each engine. Otherwise the higher the hp of the engine, the better the acceleration.

The main difference is with the greater acceleration from more Horse Power. I think you have been reading 420HP and 460HP and thinking Hit Points when it is in fact Horse Power. Added Horse Power is always a good thing and in my experience it was a noticeably faster accelerating vehicle with the better engine which helps with survivability imho, getting behind cover a split second faster is the difference between a hit or a miss and whether you live to fight another day.

Well you all convinced me to spend my hard earned experience on this engine in the hopes that spending almost 17,500 to get to 93,500 quicker and may just be worth the investment if it makes the T-43 more "agile".

I can honestly say after my tests, I can't see any noticable difference. :(

I highly recommend others stay away from this engine and just grind without it.

I didn't bother with the engine, 40hp is nothing, I've always got removed speed governor for when I want to accelerate.

I went with the upgraded engine, and I without a doubt noticed it, but then ive always been a stickler for going slow. hate it...  anyway I would recommend it, along with throwing a gun rammer on the 43.  Definately helps.  I also think that the 44 is a huge upgrade in tank compared to the 43, but mostly in the dogfighting area.  Ive noticed that situations where my 43 would have survived, especially when tracked, my 44 wont.  So while the 44 is more agile and able to pick its battles better, the 43 is the more survivable of the two, imo.

Edit// guess i got distracted there. I could support changing the tech tree to have the 44 branch off the engine instead of the turret. it does make more sense.
