Hi fellow tankers,
since this is a white-russian* game,
why not talk about something else that russia / belarus* is famous for?
[*edited that, yes, I know these countries dont like each other very well but hey, people are not always the government ;) ]

The best vodka I recently had was in a wood-log shaped bottle with nice hologram and serial number.
It was some ecological vodka, oak charcoal filtered. Really smooth even at room temperature
and a taste I haven't had before. I got that one as a birthday present from a friend from moscow and I think it was not cheap. :)
Probably a sin to mix it with something else.

Absolut vodka is so far my favourite in terms of availability, price and quality.

The worst was some 5€ bottom shelf which I did regret the day after - though I had only 20 grams!
I do not remember the name but will never ever buy that sort of window cleaner again. :)

Any other brands I should try?

PS: Don't drink and drive (tanks)!
PPS: Otherwise I drink tea most of the time.
PPPS: But when it comes to drinking I avoid mixed stuff like the devil holy water :P

Best has been Crystal Skull Vodka
Worst is kulov , a cheap vodka that costs 3 euro for a nagon and leaves an almighty hangover ,

I tend to drink Kulov a lot more than Crystal Skull as I'm a poor student :Smile_sceptic:

I can't give you a brand but here is the story of both the best AND the worst vodka I ever had.

I was lucky enough to go on a 6th form field trip to Russia not long after the wall came down (1991, I think).  Sadly, not to visit Kubinka tank museum but it was still an amazing experience.  However, I got the worst cold ever and my throat was so sore I literally couldn't talk.

We were walking down the street when a small van pulls up ahead of us.  A guy gets out and opens a roll up shutter on one side to reveal bottles and bottles of vodka.  70cl size, same as a bottle of wine, no label or branding of any description.  40p a bottle.  Naturally we loaded up.

That night I drank about half a bottle.  It was the most awful stuff I have ever tasted - I think paint stripper would have gone down smoother!  Hence, this was the worst vokda I ever had.  The thing is, when I woke up in the morning by cold was gone and my throat was completely normal!  Therefore, I say it was also the best vodka I ever had!

Best vodka I had was Ketel One, but as it is pretty expensive, I usually drink Stolichnaya.
Russian Standard is also passable.

Worst vodka? I din't drink Smirnov, but I think the worst I drank was some weird white lable stuff I bought for 6 shekels in Israel.

"Drova" ecological vodka. Can really recommend that stuff. :)

"Saimaa" from finland is also great.

any more brands that are worth drinking?
had something really terrible and want others to avoid that experience? Tell us!

Grey Goose has probably been the nicest stuff I've had.

I recently had some honey vodka from Poland and that was tremendous.

Good:

Wódka Żołądkowa Gorzka (PL) http://alkoteka.file..._tradycyjna.jpg
Best polish vodka IMO. Never had hangover :Smile_Default:

Żubrówka (PL) http://podlaskie.reg...es/zubrowka.jpg
It's very good. Drink with apple juice. WARNING! It's like SPG. You will never see it coming.

Russian Standart (RU) http://kaczuszka.co....03400000043.jpg
Nearly perfect. But it's expensive :Smile_sad:

Worst:

Lithuanian Cranberry (LT) http://www.beveragew...oducts/8924.gif
NEVER again. I still have nightmares :arta:

Absolwent (PL) http://www.sklep.biz...s_absolwent.jpg
Many of my friends likes it. I don't.

@Pansenmann

Never heard of it. But I see that Polmos Łańcuty have "Biała Dama" in offer and it's good.

I have tried Absolut for "White Russian" but was not impressed.
The Kahluha of course was fine.

True story. Get yourself a Britta Water Filter.

The main difference between cheap Vodka and expensive Vodka is how much they filter it. After hearing the water-filter/vodka rumour from someone at uni and borrowing one we had a bit of experimental evening a few years ago. After filtering some ass-rough, burn-the-back-of-your-throat-off supermarket Vodka a few times it was magically transformed into the smoothest premium Vodka I've tasted in a long time.

REALLY worth trying sometime.
