Well now that M5 Stuart has 20 degrees of gun depression it is able to do what makes it unique even better, thats 20 degrees of gun depression!!!!!!

So yestrday i decided to take it for a spin to test it, the test went perfectly and is a great example of its capability.

At least it does damage to tier 9, unlike most other tier 4 scouts who depend on penetration.

Damage to tier 9? What? A Lorraine maybe? Can't see it doing damage to anything else. All the howitzer does is 0 damage to T6+ Heavies, cmon...

It's a great T4 light, but not for it's gun, for sure. It only shines in dealing damage up to T4.

The tank itself has gotten better , and is more fun with hte physics. However the Gu is still as poor as ever. I actaully ran out of ammo the other day. Failed to do much more than scratch some paint work on KV's. I still believe that the M5 needs to be made into a Jalopy.

I honestly do not feel any difference. I still like the M5 Stuart... if it's put inside a tier 4 or 5 battle.

The slower but just as useless counterpart to the A-20...I suffered enough with the M3 Stuart and even more so, recently, when I struggled to get its WR up to 50%. How did I do it? Mostly by brawling. Its scouting capabilities are sh*t, had to resort to combat.

The A20 got a massive buff recentlty didn't she?

I still believe the way to save the stuart is the M66 and M310 HEAT warheads. Add a new Ammo selection option. Give the current gold ammo stats to the M310, and make the earlier (and worse) M66 round availible for silver. But give it worse stats than the gold round.

Ding, problem solved. The M5 can actually fight when needed, and dosen't keep getting sold.

Well, that's what I do with mine, I rarely scout in the true meaning of the word, I just go at a nice bush, do some spotting and when the enemy tanks appear run away! Or I stay near spawn point and wait for the suicide scouts, take them out, stay there until the enemy is busy and either go for arty or do same annoying attacks on low HP tanks. In lower tier, I play very aggressive with it, running around and trolling tanks with the howitzer.

i also struggle M5. the cannon is not of much use against tier 6 vehicles or above. main problem is it's unreliable. it sometimes does damage but mostly it doesn't. it's not accurate to aim for weak spots either. so if you are engaging a heavy (except for the french) with only 1 hp left... it's a big gamble even if you can take your time for the first shot from cover... because you almost certainly will need more.

I'm kind of enjoying it but I have no idea how to play it. No stealth that I can see, horrendous turning speed, not that great speed and acceleration compared to other scouts I meet and hideous gun that can at least slowly wither higher tier enemies away and makes me useless at scout hunting.

Yet somehow I found myself killing a pershing the other day. But by god the turning rate. This one is getting clutch breaking for sure.

Should I be worried that my M5 Stuart had the most xp and kills... in a tier 6-8 fight!!!  Bush scouting, and breakthrough runs are the M5's strengths - chasing down scouts is not a strength and other posters are right, the turning circle is baaaad!  I still love it, though!

m5 stuart can do a LOT of damage to high tier unarmored tanks like m18 hellcat or lorraine. Yesterday i shooted  a hellcat 3 times from behind dealing 600 hp

I am starting to love this funny tank - just like playing Super Mario. It is fast and manoeuvrable. Its derp gun is not the best in game but strong enough to do some damages at heavy tanks or even kills "artys".

Battle: Abbey 11 November 2012 12:43:31
Vehicle: M5 Stuart
Experience received: 3,020 (x2 for the first victory each day)
Credits received: 29,290
Battle Achievements: Mastery Badge: "Ace Tanker"

2nd game in this little tank, was quite an interesting one! I free XPd the entire tank though because stock this thing is shocking, it can't even penetrate tier 2/3 artillery.

Damn nice work!  My grind through the M5 back before the French tanks came out... my God I put it on par with the M3 Lee grind back then, at least the Lee had a cannon to fall back on.

I mean, the big problem I'm finding with this tank is it can't turn for shit oh and the fact it is 99.9% impossible to penetrate a KV with the Howitzer using gold...

I don't understand how I have never ever damaged a KV with the 100mm penetrating HEAT rounds, they all penetrate but they never do anything, sides/rear/lower hull, anywhere they just do nothing.

Might've been me. Got killed by an M5 who shot me from a bridge. Couldn't believe the gun depression on the thing there.

U just spoted a lot but did no damage on tier 3 and 4 tanks. Not exactly the best example that this is a good tank.

I think this tank really IS awesome. Not my favourite tank, but clearly the best regarding efficiency.
