I can't wait until I get rid of the crappy 152mm... ridiculous reload times and slow velocity makes it hell to play imo, combined with the mediocre damage.

It's the only aspect of the Russian tank line I hate playing...

I was very excited when i finally got mine yesterday.

I hate every single minute driving it. Its the worst POS i have driven in this game (release and beta) and i hate it so much, i'm considering selling it, getting a Su100 and pay to convert experience. But then i'd rather stop playing alltogether.

For all of you thinking about getting this tank:
Its like kicking yourself in the nuts repeatedly while setting fire to yourself.

It gets good when you get the better 122mm and track + motor update. I hated life also without those upgrades, but now I love it. I can still 4 shots IS/T29, 2 shot KV-3 and do serious damage to anything above IS and it's agile and fast enough now.

tracks and engine are enough the ml-20 might reload slow but it does INSANE damage (got mine back yesterday) it's just a matter of knowing your palce so you don't get spotted and then just widdle down M6A2 with 40% a shot.

and if you hate this tank try driving a stock ferd it's worse n the speed and agility department its 1 tier higher it has better armor yes, but the gun is useless.
this is marganely faster and more agile has worse armor but is only tier 7 but the gun can damage every tank in game.

Tracks and engine are essential for the SU-152. They change it completely. And then the 122 makes you cry from joy ;)

shoot m6A2E1 for 80% in side with ml20 makes me cry with joy more TBH :P

i just got the SU152 so i'm using the short barrel stock gun.

one thing i dont understand about it is how the DMG is being calculated ingame? the stats of the gun say the avg dmg for a HE round is 900.

i use HE shells with the gun(because of the low pen stats it has) and the dmg done on almost every tank is similar or worse comparing to the SU100 top gun which i'm using with AP shells(390 avg dmg).

now i understand that when u penetrate u make extra dmg, but the gap between 900 to 390 is big and yet with the SU152 stock gun you actually make less dmg?.. what's the point of the gun then?

The amount of damage with HE depends on the armor you hit - less armor - more damage. So you must aim for the places with less armor. And HE damage is variable, yes. Sometimes you can take 50% of Tiger, sometimes 20.

After release  i am getting a lot of Gun damage , in one game a tiger1 destroyed my gun 5 times couldn't even shoot back at him. Anyone else noticed frequent gun damage?

Yes, I'm getting my gun destroyed very frequently also, sometimes even with no other damage.

Almost every game my gun is destroyed its very annoying as i thought the mantle on this thing was pretty tough to penetrate but everyone seems to be able to destroy my gun no matter the calibre of their gun.

I was just in  a match in a city cap were a kv knocked out my gun and gunner at the same time with one hit, could it be because of those hit boxes skins? I remember before the JP has this kind problem thats why i switched to Russian side, now it's happening on this side which really makes me worry how random the game play could be.

I have to add something to my previous post a bit. yes the Su was horrible when I first got it, but now all kitted out and with a 100% crew its really fun.

I will miss it when I get my isu. and I will than cry a lot about that one ;)

I'm not liking the SU152, fully kitted out, its got reasonable speed and agility but the 122 top gun just isnt good enough PEN versus heavies. The number of times i've lost gunners or gun dead is far too much, almost 30% of hits will cause the loss of one or the other. Its not bad but unlike most other TDS I get an edgy feeling that i'm doomed versus big stuff.

yes i have to admit that when i compaire the SU-152 vs Jagdpanther, the Germans have the better one, long 88 has better rof accuracy and pen.
the only thing that can make the SU-152 usefull is with a 100% crew + ventilation and the short HE gun, that can do reasonoble damage against every tier, and most small classes are just 1 shot (with AP when it doesnt bounce). problem with that gun is its low rof and is very weak armour.

This tanks really chances from a non-mobile big gun to a pretty good TD when upgrading stuff. New tracks and the engine are a must. Grinding towards the 122mm guns, I'm interested in seeing if they are better than the 152mm HE slinging howitzer. The faster 122mm should have amazing DPM at least and of course more accuracy for sniping.

i don't have much complaines about the su-152
allthough thats what tds are for
when starting with the 152 you might wanna change agressive style to more passive and supportive style
becuase youre easely outmanueverd by the enemy medium tanks
long range fire support will be really effective with the more accurate 122MM guns
its also pretty handy if you research both guns.. yes it may take more time to research for the isu
but after you have the tracks and engine for the isu you will be able to directly go for the bl-10

It's a fun td after u get used to it. My only problem is the 122mm and its ghost shells. Just had a match where i had 6 ghost shells out of like, 11 shots?  bye bye credits. It's a good gun when it works, but it's rather unreliable.
