It looks like the T2 light tank has a .50 cal HMG. Hope I can blaze away on full auto (or bursts) with no reload until after 100 rounds or so. Anybody used this on the Russian server? Whats the.50 like?

6 round bursts, holds 2500 rounds, it says 22mm of penetration, but that's if the rounds don't deflect, which they do, a lot.

And with its 8 damage, you will want the next as soon as possible.

Can you fire the next burst as soon as the first is done? Or is there a "reload" period?

That isn't too bad considering the 2cm gun does 3 rounds at 11 dmg each with alot less ammo.  Just to give some of the uninformed scale. .50 cal translates to a 12.7mm round in size.

There is a load time, its really short. But only about 1-2 rounds of each burst damaged the target

I was seriously wondering if early american tanks would be restricted to .50s. Looks like they will...which is kinda awesome in a way. I look forward to it.

This!
Autocannons work wonders if you find a way to utilize them correctly. Especially if they get more than 3 shots out per burst.
Still a very interesting concept for start tanks. Since none of the post tier3 tanks seem to get something in the way of a viable autocannon.
And even the ones on t3 are borderlining uselessness.

This could open the door for PzKpfw I ausf. C in the German tree, it was armed with a self-loading 7.92mm antitank rifle :)

Just the M2 light. Rest get 37mm and 20mm auto cannons

T2 lt is awesome, it does like 72 kph and its a small zip zoomer if I had the radio of a leopard I would choose that

T2 goes 62 km/h, not 72. Also, its stock gun is indeed a .50cal machine gun, but with only 100xp or so you can upgrade to a 37mm gun or a 20mm autocannon.

The .50 HMG would be pretty cool to use even if it isn't that effective.

x°D For God sake... .50 cal is the calibre of a Desert Eagle !!! And penetrate a TANK !?!? That's cool.. people really care about the safety of the tank crew back then..

:)   The .50 BMG is a much larger shell than the 50 AE that the Desert Eagle shoots.

Yay i know, i was kidding. :D but .50 against tanks is (and it was..) pretty useless. Btw it sounds more a anti veichle (halftrack, jeeps, recon veichle) than anti tank.

We used to call the 50 cals Panzeranklopfgerät, literally tanslates as Tank knocking device, due to sound it makes when rounds impact on the armour. It sounds like someone is knocking on the door (and has the same effect).
