Yeah I guess this gun will not hit anything not close by. On city maps this is alright but on open maps the extremely short range of this gun is simply unacceptable. I'm leaving the fan club for this gun.
When you first get it, it's nice. You can, with just a little luck, "one-salvo-kill" many of your enemies. But as you progress the matchmaker thinks you'd much rather fight tier 3 tanks than tier 1's.
-Against tier 1 tanks this gun is great. Against tier 2, you need luck to "one-salvo-kill" your enemy, vs tier 3 you're gonna hear "bounce-bounce-miss-bounce". And then you die.
-The gun is wildly inaccurate. You're gonna miss a lot, unless you wait for the aiming circle to get smaller, which totally negates the high firing rate followed by a longer reload.
-The guns shells disappear into thin air above something like 200 meters or so. Which is weird if this gun is really an anti-aircraft gun. An anti-aircraft gun that only works at close range? Seems like a bug to me.
-The gun has low penetration and low damage.

We did a short test in training room.
The autocannon, BESA 15mm was dinging the enemy tank at distance below 350m.
If the distance was little above 350m, not one bullet made it to the other vehicle.
Assume the 350m+ barrier is common to other autocanons, pompom included.

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
so the pom pom have a good pen vs 2-4. but its difficuld to use it.
The best for me was to improve my crew to 75% and it works better now.
Of curse ther are better guns on other tanks with the same tier but it still a good fun cannon.
I use it on the tier 3 tank A13 Mk. II Cr. Tank Mk. IV to have fun.
So this tank have med. speed, armor but a gun that fires 2 times instad one
that mak this tank stronger in my point of view

I don't like it that much, its higher tier than the other weapons but it has lower pen ratings and damage stat's than the lower class weapons. Can anyone explain why that is?

Apparently the "Tier" rating of guns in the game is entirely arbitrary. So don't read too much what tier any gun happens to be.
That fact did come from a dev but I can't find the post to quote it.

it's simple, it can annihilate any T2 (and some T3) tank within 2 sec. it's actually quite OP...

With everyone playing their foolish Christmas gift tank, having a tier II A13 w/Pompom and a decent crew surely scores.
Witnessed strange disappearing shots when trying to hit a target beyond 400+ meters though. Havent seen that on any other gun/tank before.
Nomatter. Could not hit a thing that far anyway.

PomPom has a max range of 395m
Also trying to brawl with a paper tank might not be the most brilliant idea (however, with controlled impact & spall liner and ramming, the A13Mk1 is a potent brawler tank; mind your paper armor, tho), it performs better as a mobile sniper that can relocate quickly with the 2pdr; you can still brawl in a pinch, just not so well, but you have incredible long-range firepower

Noticed the Pom Pom is available on the Chinese Vickers too. Hardly worth getting though, as it's expensive, dissappears again on the Chi-Ha, and the Chinese Vickers is easy enough to quickly grind through anyway.

Read it in another post, (sorry cant find it), that autoguns range is limited to 350m.
Didnt tested extensively - but seems to be true.

Thanks, it was the answer I was looking for. Been pulling my hair out over not being able to hit anything from across the valley at Province, unless it is directly in front of me. Other than that the gun is great fun!
