Hi Commanders,

What are some of your favorite movies that feature tanks?
Can you recommend something?

Cheers,

Pershings [tigers] vs Chaffees [shermans] fighting in the Southern Spain [Ardennes] . That film just makes me laugh over and over.

Not enough tanks I think, but it really describes WW II perfectly and it's really good produced... 10 parts movie - The Pacific (10 hours long; every part 1 hour long each)

Well my favourite tank movie is  'The Battle of the Bulge' starring Robert Shaw and Henry Fonda, Shaw was just made for the part. :Smile_great:

And 'Patton' starring George C. Scott was a cracker.

I understand what Highway_Star means but I liked the acting and tend not to get caught up in detailitis when I know the history anyway.

Cross of Iron. Best WW2 movie ever.

Fear those t-34's  :Smile_ohmy:

Also recommended is 'The Beast' about Afghanistan and a lone tank.

Does anyone remember the title?

golden eye, it was a chieftan with 'soviet' accessories to disguise it. (edit) got that wrong, it was a T55 variant with chieftan tracks.

I don't think so, looks like a pimped T-55...

EDIT:
wikpedia proves:

The largest stunt sequence in the film was the tank chase, which took around six weeks to film, partly on location in St. Petersburg and partly at Leavesden.[46] A Russian T-54/55 tank, on loan from the East England Military Museum, was modified with the addition of fake explosive reactive armour panels.[34] In order to avoid destroying the pavement on the city streets of St. Petersburg, the steel off-road tracks of the T-54/55 were replaced with the rubber-shoed tracks from a British Chieftain tank.[40] A rectangular viewport was cut in the glacis plate and covered with tinted Perspex, allowing a trained driver to manoeuvre the tank from a prone position inside the driver's compartment while Pierce Brosnan sat in the (modified) driver's seat with his head protruding from the driver's hatch, creating the illusion he was driving the tank "unbuttoned".[47]

Not only that, but it also shows how to rob a bank with a Tiger tank - which still is the only way to do it, I say.

"Dominion Tank Police", two 2h animé movies showing how to use tanks to keep down the crime rate in a futuristic Tokyo. Hilarious, touching and exiting and with massive action all at the same time.
