and yes, in my short experience with centurion, no point trying to hide. On the plus side the UK tier x FV4202(105) has pretty good camo values, only beaten by the t62a.

Ah sorry forgot about the German mediums, they are equally bad. The soviet mediums on the other hand are silent ninja mediums.

They can only be detected if the crew sings the Russian national anthem  :Smile_trollface-3:

As much as I can see from the tables the camo values of tier 8-9 Centurions are equal to both Panthers and E-50 (probably because giving them worse camo than Germans would be...ouch). The tier 10 FV on the other hand has much better camo than E-50M and M48 so it's not that bad.

For reference: t-62 next to the "gigantic mause sized" Centurion. The T-62 is actually a bit smaller than a T-55/54, T-44 is about the same size.

Hmm much as I love my t54, gonna be a hard slog persuading WG to either downsize Cent or Mausify t43-62 series. (A maus sized t54 would be quite funny though.)

But in real life (Challenger please pass this on!!)
Centurion
Length, 7.82 m (25.7 ft); width, 3.39 m (11.1 ft); height, 3 m (9.87 ft)
t54
Length, 6.4 m (21 ft); width, 3.3 m (10.8 ft); height, 2.4 m (7.8 ft)
Pershing
Length, 8.69 m (28.5 ft); width, 3.51 m (11.5 ft); height, 2.78 m (9.1 ft)
Patton
Length, 8.05 m (26.4 ft); width, 3.51 m (11.5 ft); height, 2.95 m (9.7 ft)
Panther
Length, 6.68 m (22ft); width, 3.3 m (10.8 ft); height, 2.95 m (9.6 ft)
e50 series
???
so Cent is longer and slightly wider (by 9 cm), but it is higher than the t54 (60cm diff)!

I don't know how accurate these stats are (pulled from web), but if even close, there are plenty of fantasy renderings in game. (see patton)

The Mk3 version should be length 7.5 m, width 3.37m, height 2.94m. Figures are from the first version Sweden bought and official from the tank museum.

Great work WG. Confirming Russian bias once again.

WG, you really do yourselves no favours, the numbers are so much better for Soviet tanks despite no reason for them to be that way. The Soviets were not famous for camoflage, unlike the Germans which actually were well know for effective camoflage. Its not like Soviet tanks are much smaller either, relatively.

Profile is part of a tank's appearance on the battlefield, how the shape of the turret and hull work.

Compared to a Sherman, Cromwell appears low, http://en.wikipedia...._silhouette.png

Patton has a certain builtup blobbiness when looking from the side (http://www.windjammer-arts.com/AR.htm)

Don't mention the M3 Lee and its Tower of Hanoi profile....

Realism and wot don't mix all that well.

According to that silly top 10 tanks "documentary" from history channel, two Israeli centurions once came up against 150 Syrian t54's and took out 60 of them.

Are you really that simple? If they made Russian tanks in this game like there were in RL, then nobody would play them. You do have to balance the nations - else all would be playing German.

History channel is hardly an example of 'realism' or 'in depth' study... While centurions aquitted themselves very well on occasion, they were not immortal giants, indeed on other occasions they suffered heavy losses too. In reality they were slow, poor range,  with mediocre armour, with good armament and very good looks :). In the right hands they could be very succesful.

My only serious criticism of them in WOT is they have rendered/modelled the tanks too big compared to their adversaries (pershing/patton/t43/44/54) and given them absurdly low camo values.

I totally agree that no tank is 100% better than any other tank and a lot of the effectiveness of any tank is the training levels of the crew and the way it's being used, the Golan battles gave the Cent a good defensive position where it could use its armour and gun in a way that multiplied it's effectiveness.

However I'm intrigued by "heavy losses" statement. In which battle/conflict did a Centurion equipped unit suffer heavy losses?

admittedly the exact losses (which tanks/severity=dmged or destroyed) I'm less sure about.

IM pretty sure IS3 on the move has better camo than Centurion mk 7 stationary. I was waiting for an IS3 to come round corner, i parked near edge, behind trees, waiting for him to pop up in my screen when he came round the corner. Next thing i know, ding, he's shot me, before i even spot him, and i was 100% not moving, and he was definitely moving to get round the corner into a position where he could shoot me. These tanks are such a bad joke i seriously thinkg WG need to hold a review into how these piles of junk made it into the game.

And i would dearly love to know in what possible realm of fantasy these are balanced with the other nations tanks.
