It's M36 Jackson rarer Slugger
WG is changing US name tanks.
"It was known as Jackson or Slugger by the British, after the Confederate general Stonewall Jackson"

My first reaction of the name change: Whyyyy did you change your name, Slugger! Are you Being followed by the mafia and needed a new name so they could not track you down?!

I would assume the name change was down to "Slugger" being a baseball reference which most in Europe wont understand or care about and also being a fairly rare un-official nickname, "Jackson" is historical reference and the official British name for the Tank,

Slugger was on a M10 body and Jackson was on a Sherman body, I think.

Not really. Slugger is the name I first heard in WOT, historically M36 was known as Jackson, both the version based on M10 and the one based on the Sherman hull.

I don't own one, but I'm grateful it's in the game, as the only tank named after a Johnny Cash song.

Apart from the Pzkpfw VIII Folsom Prison.

Natch.

I always knew it as M36 Slugger from all the WW2 documentaries and games I played but oh well.

Actually both the M10 and the M36 were based on the M4 (Sherman) body, the M36 being an upgrade to the M10 to enable it to take a bigger/better gun.

They were both based on M4 chassis, true, but I was referring to different variants of M36.

For some reason, I can't get a picture inserted, so I'm providing the link. Notice M4 hull on M36B1.
