Found this today and thought it was pretty cool. Most salvage operations involve months of planning, logistics, etc followed by gruelling years of restoration.

Meanwhile, in Russia, when they come across a rusting hulk of an ISU-152 which looks like it's been sat outside in a field since the '60s, they just get in, start it up and drive off..

This was posted before in the historical section. Apparently it was used by the local town from time to time, e.g. pulling down trees the as the tractors struggling to do, so its not like they pulled this thing out of the swamp after 60 years and it magically worked. Still though, I dont imagine they would have done a lot of maintenance to it as it was just sitting outside somewhere, so its pretty impressive for it to start up after all that time without having major work done to it. it looks very awesome to see the ISU in real life, as you can see just how big that beast is compared to humans.
