I love me some mid arty - running the French tier 5 now. Its tons of fun and matches up to my memory of the Hummel. Will start the other arty sections soon love the tier 3-6. Higher are OP and in mass lower are mostly useless.

It was well written, usefull, the narator was actually neutral enough, not to have me rushing for the off button, while at the same time, was able to keep my intrest, we seriously don't need background music of any sort  though, dung dung ding.. just gets on my nerves and suspect it does with alot of other people as well

On the whole a plus

But As Edna might say NO SOUND !

Nice and useful video, though gun rammer on SU-5 sounds rather useless. You don't need to fire fast when you run out of ammo anyways in 4 minutes... And good luck for the SPG who wants to take that position on the middle of Steppes. The other team has to be destroyed (or so dumb to abandon base) for artillery to reach that place without being destroyed...

I'm somewhat doubtful about moving around the map being such a good idea. And closing the distance. This raises the chance of you being detected and artillery is always a primary target. Detection often means being destroyed.

This is only a good idea when your team is winning and you have more terrain under your control - changing position allows taking advantage of different angle of shooting.

E.g. battles on Arctic Circle map almost always end in one team piling up behind a mountain and camping there. 2-3 heavy tanks sitting there can be ultimately difficult to defeat. Unless a friendly artillery moves to a position where they can be pummeled. Many games were lost because artillery failed to do so.

good tutorial
too bad so few read the forums or watch tutorials like this...

and the moving closer to the enemy is risky, but can be rewarding. if done properly on the right moment during the battle (for example: no scouts left or scout checked a flank and it was totally empty) it can have nice results
but one has to practice a lot to see when it is the right time

In the video aiming looks too easy - arty fires at the same moment when reticle is aimed or moved on target. In real situation you have to wait a second (or even more) after you see reticle in right spot or in right shape. This is because what you see in your screen is not the same what is going on the server, which is always delayed. Server decides whether shell hits or not.
Or you can switch settings to server reticle, but somehow in that case fps drops (at least for me). Why devs have removed option to temporarily turning to server reticle in battle(Ctrl+0)?

medium artellery sounds like they are gonna make a vid for the high tier spgs too and yeah at tier 5 you should start thinking about counter arty to get some experience but not that important once you hit tier 6 though you really need to start and counter arty, while helping your team mates

Edit: forgot my point. xD they will prob tell about it in the next video if their is one which I suspect there will be.   :Smile_blinky:

Edit 2: oh and WG nice vid +1 oh and what about TD mode in city maps might wanna talk about that too.

I want the guy from the Medal of Honor games (the old ones at least), or maybe Paul Eiding (Metal Gear Solid) or Keith David (Mass Effect). These are competent, but uninspired.

Also, was the irrelevant rambling about love written by some vodka-addled Russian prior to uploading?

I think arty must move forward or where ever it can best support team. Hate when see arty siting and waiting (because it cant't target that area)  instead of moving while decisive battle is going on between last survived tanks, just to start moving when he/she is last survived vehicle !? Couldnt you move before it is to late ;-)
Also arty should at least move away from spawn position cause almost every (suicide or not) scout is rushing there...

I know the SU-5 is the worst arty but the SU-26 is the best ever and I'm hoping to get my SU-8 this month I'm 9.000 XP away :D CAN'T WAIT :D

it might be easier to hit your target at close range but the further the distance from your target you are the higher your gun arc so your shooting down at a higher angle , so you can hit the engine and weaker armoured places

so saying get close to your target has more disadvantages than advantages
