Hey Mr Noobmeter.
Thanks for the fast help with avg tier above 10 displayed in my profile lately. (avg tier 54 in last battles :D)
I admire the amount of features you implement into your site. Amazing stuff.

Can you tell me which site shows proper wn7 for recent days? Because Wotlabs and Noobmeter data differs a lot. (at least recent stats)

I think NoobMeter shows the proper stats.

However there are two ways to calculate a WN7 rating for an interval, and if the Wotlabs and NM one differs often then it may be likely that Wotlabs uses the other method.

Basically, NoobMeter calculates all rating "interval ratings" - including avg tier, etc. using the same method - it calculates it for snapshot A at start of period (with for example 10000 battles, and rating of 1300), for snapshot B at end of period (with for example 10050 battles, and rating of 1305), and then calculates what the rating must have been during the period for your rating to move from 1300 to 1305. That's a simple formula of:

(battles2 * rating2 - battles1*rating1) / (battles2 - battles1)

The alternative is to calculate all the properties that the rating uses for the period, and then calculate the rating from that using the regular formula.

Both yield the same results for simple ratings, such as average tier. However, for more complex ones the results can be different I think as the penalties for "seal clubbing" etc can be applied differently.

The other reason why the results are different as even though we both try to get recent results for some interval, the actual times we ask WG for data are different. Maybe some day Wotlabs asked and got no response from WG servers. Maybe Noobmeter had same problem on another day.

So even if both are for example last 7 days then one can be Mon-Sun while another Sun-Mon and maybe you had a very good session or very bad one on one of the days it differs at.

I hope that helps shed some light on the topic.

Hi.

Any plans on releasing source for PR algorithm? I know it makes your site very unique but some people would love to use it in their own projects ;-)

I don't have specific plans but there is one event that can happen (and I keep hearing rumours it will happen - not dependent on me) in which case I will release it.

a Q?

Why did you leave out the hit ratio? Or is that involved into the player skill.
Same goes with % survived. :)

Cheers for this awesome tool

Well, hit ratio isn't really that relevant. Sometimes two people with very different hit ratio can be with very similar skill - e.g., if one guy routinely takes blind shots at known bushes where enemies hide, while other guy saves ammo religiously to lower resupply costs.

% survived is also a strange stat - some guys who always camp in own base have quite high % survived as they only die if the team loses the battle.

I'm wondering if playing the Chaffee most of the time recently else is partly responsible for my falling ratings (playing badly is the more obvious reason).

It could be if you don't do much damage in the Chaffee and don't win much battles.

Do you know how much damage you did on avg with the Chaffee during the time when ratings fell?

I havn't monitored it well enough to say for sure, but as I said I've not been on top form generally.  As for the Chaffee, sometimes I don't even fire a shot though I have managed around 1k some of the time.

I'll take a look goign forward if I play enough of the tank in a single evening for it to dominate the ratings (which may happen some nights.)

I was wondering; if I wipe my account, will my NoobMeter stats disappear?

How do you wipe your account? Do you lose all your tanks and research then too?

But the answer is that they will remain until you reach the # of battles as you had before the battle at which point they will be replaced by the new stats. But overall your NoobMeter profile can be in an inconsistent state and even fail to display.

sorry to ask such a noobish question, but how do you scrap those data in the first place ?

I was just toying with the idea to get something similar for my own hobby with maybe a website for my clan.

Out of interest are more tanks stats incoming. I did some research on the last one to try and adjust the OP rating to be a better cross tier rating. While I did manage to get a decent adjustment for tier, I didn't publish as I wasn't able to adaquately adjust for battles. The results I did have though put the FV4202 as the worst regular tank in the game, with the low tier Franco-German permiums as very much OP tanks. Would it be possible for you to release some more data on tank performances, as hopefully with some more play in the Chinese and British tanks (excluding TDs) these should make for interesting reading

I'm planning to produce a tank stats report, but I'm having some issues with it. Sorry.
