I found this nice video of Alexander Orlov , he drove a T-34 and a sherman during the war. he also recounts his experience during that time.
When i heard that most men only got 10 hours of training then send to the front i was like WTf .... compared to the german who trained for a year.

I didn't watch the video (at work atm, but will later today) but:

At the second half of the war the german troops who send to the front, where insufficient trained too, which caused in the Luftwaffe (german airforce) massive losts because they where send to retreating fronts and didnt had time to settle in -> slaughter of the young ones
