After 7.4 in my opinion IS7 is better choice.
Well armored and mobile tank.

T110 takes sick amounts of damage from arty hits, not only from direct hits but 100% damage from splash. Everything with 175mm (of penetration) or above can penetrate it from front, no side armor, terrible ammo criticals.
T110 it's not a bad tank, but after this f**** retarded 7.4 patch IS7 is still the king of this game.

In IS7 I'm very often almost taking full HE damage (50% of penetrating damage minus around 100HP) and I'm losing 3 crewmen with every damn hard hit. So arty hits me for 700, but with 3/5 of my crew dead (usually commander, gunner and loader) I no longer can compete.
Also, crazy HE damage goes through the periscope which has almost 0 armor  and it basically always kills my commander (even splash from milion miles away does that).
Add to this crazy aimtime, bad accuracy on the move, bad accuracy, very random behaviour when it comes to penetration (I'm getting so many bounces on Maus turret front, KT UFP,  that I've started to doubt that it's really 260 pene) mediocre DPM and you'll understand, why IS7 has more armor than T110. It also usually moves at 34km/h top, which isn't really noticeably bbetter than E75 and worse than T110 it turns quite slowly too - unless I'm driving on the road/concrete/rocks, but it doesn't happen too often.

To sum it up - T110 has mobility and gun, and accuracy on the move and gun depression, IS7 has armor.
I would happily switch one for another, and that's why I can't wait to drive M48.

EDIT: just another round in IS7, got hit by arty, 800HP down + loader, commander and gunner. This trio dies every 2nd round, and then I'm forced to drive a blind tank firing once per 20s and if the driver dies later - I'm slower than Maus too.

Hello i post only to say E100 and MAUS are horrible at this moment, when i started this game i didnt know a lot and a choosed germans . BAD¡. For clan wars they are useless, they are underarmoured, undergunned and underspeed. Dont know whats the reason for developers to discriminate germans as they are doing. Hope this change very soon or dont know what i will do, because i won´t use russians, i prefer leave the game.

doesn't anyone think that kv-1s has very high ammo refill costs?...i mean if I play a good match with four kills for example and i use 10-15 shells, my profit is maximum 5k credits....i think this is a problem to be solved with the next patch...

All 122mm are 1k + credits. get used to it. Also you must miss a lot to fire 15 shells and get 5k credits.
The KV-1S is a great tank and i think second best tier 6 now that the KV-3 is tier 7.

Well KV-1S was kind of crap until i brought the big bad 122 mm gun. Now its one of my favorite tanks. And since i rarely miss with that gun (1 shot out of 15 misses avg) i dont realy have problems with money - i grind credits with that tank.

Agreed.
The lol armour doesn´t matter as much as one would think, the great speed and gun depression means that you can often avoid fire by popping out briefly and suddenly appearing somewhere else.

I have finished my project of lifting some played tanks from shit WR to at least 49,5%. Soooo that leaves me with a wicked crew that currently left the E-75. Is the Tiger II still a good Tier 8 or should I leave them to slack in the baracks?

Hello guys,
I'd like to know your opinion. I have Tiger 2, which I enjoy, but I'd like some heavy tank (tier 7 or 8), which is better suited for close distance combat. I like sniping but I'd like to be closer to the action :Smile_Default:
I asked in game and suggested tanks were: IS-3, T-29, KV-4 and Caern.
  • What do you think about them as close distance fighters?
  • Do you have other suggestions?

*I am not sure if this is right place for this question, so sorry if it's so.

I'd go for the T32, it's gun is a bit rusty, but the vehicle overall has great armor, mobility, and 10° gundepression allowing you to damage tanks at unexpected spots.
Oh yeah and you can facehug higher tier tanks into submission with it :)

Yup, and in 0.8.1 T32 will also have the ability to penetrate those targets that used to be too tough for  it with gold, so...it'll be a monster, but quite expensive to run. It'll definitely land in my garage.

Thank you for answers guys. I will definitely try American line out. Now in beta common test I played T-29 a couple of times and it looks really good.
What do you think about British HTs (in close fight manner)?

T10 is kind of ridiculous, but the others are fine I think.

Hi, i'm a proud german tank addicted and i love to drive them, have both E-100 and Maus, and still keep Tiger 1 and Tiger 2 (because they look gorgeous and they fking rock), also have IS4 and IS7 because they are ok and useful for cw.

Just tested a few "heavy" tanks in common test, the M103, T110E5, AMX50 100(not the 120) and AMX50b, and i was wtf? damn they are fast, have good maneuverability, great acceleration and top speed, and the guns don't do much damage but the penetration and rof is awesome, I knew all of this stuff because i meet them every day but had to test it myself. First, they shouldn't be called heavies because they handle like mediums, the only heavies still around are germ and russ, and second they are quite good overall. I consider myself as pro (or at least very good) when it comes to driving a german tank, and it takes alot of skill and concentration to be successful in randoms (and i will need more when 8.1 arrives), and suddenly i find myself driving a T110E5 and about everything works just better, i mean, having 4+ kills per battle easily, pwning the enemy faster, going from one side to another in secs (in a germ tank, when you go for one flank, you just stay there till it ends :D ) and all of this with hit ratio of +90% (i'm very careful with my shoots). As for the french, i just applied the 13-75 tactics and it worked nice too.
Sold the T-29 elited a long time ago and the american line was closed, guess i'll have to consider them again.

As for my loved german tanks, they are ok, but what they need is a nerf in all of the +260 pen guns...
(sorry for my poor english)

this is an honest question from a guy who loves playing medium tanks, i like playing support/sniper and flanker but the IS tanks confuse me.
what is the point of medium tanks realy? the IS line just as fast/numble as allot of mediums but with better armor and a huge arse gun. they seem to be able to fill the same role as a medium tank.
not to mention the US t10, its redicously nimble..

AMX50B is a fast, fun, awesome tank, but when he meets other heavy tank(Like E-100,IS-4,T110E5...) bad luck for him or he can circle him and kill him than E-100 will be helpless, but I'm not gonna get him!

Stop complaining about the pen... If the round bounce, well, then its a bounce, not a non-penetration. That is what can happen with every single AP round in this game. Get it!
