avoid death from above:

hide behind a very big rock! (no wait you guys all made them lower and gave them a better slope so no you can't hide behind them anymore)
hide behind a building! (works oke most of the time untill it either gets destroyed or the ary has a higher splash cirkle then the damn house)
swerve and don't stil stil! (works in a fast tank slow tanks are doomed and even fast tanks get hit when they don't have room to swerve)

only way to survive arty is to either get it killed with a scout or counter arty or be the lucky one they don't choose to shoot.

Well according to their vids, the brit tanks have 'armour advantages' and are good at leading the assault...lol, epic fail, so any vid from their archives has to be regarded with a proverbial pinch of salt and best watched eating popcorn and a beer for some good lighthearted hollywood entertainment.

My advice is to NOT take the vids seriously at all, they don't exactly give good advice and are seriously disjointed from how the tanks actually function within their own game, haha. Textbook and actual gameplay are totally different here and most of the current maps don't allow for textbook playstyle.

Most important thing about the change to 5 max arty(still too many in most players opinion)
Has been announced on US server:
"This is the beginning of a long chain of progress that may allow for the possibility of  introducing tier 9 and tier 10 artillery pieces. At this point we're just laying the ground work."
For possibility read definite, possible reason why all arty getting slight nerfs with HP etc is because there,s a new generation of seriously OP arty on way?

5 is still too much, especially in higher tier battles. They should reduce it to 3. If you are unlucky you can still get oneshoted, and -40000,and some people don't have money for tier 8 prem tanks. I don't know what WG thought when they put arties in the game, but okay I accept it,but not 6-7 arties in one match for gods sake. They are really annoying. They can really ruin the game sometimes. And I've never met with an arty teammate, who helps. I meet with a higher tier enemy tank, ask arty for help but nothing. But if I can beat him,and he has 5-20% health,of course the arty will "help",they only steal your kills.

How to avoid death by arty:
-Hide untill cover is destroyed or proves to not be cover at all.
-Relocate to new cover and hope arty is not looking.
-Get blown up in the middle of the field.

-If not, stand behind new cover.
-Wait until scout starts moving and finds arty.
-Your arty however is not paying attention but instead is killwh*ring a low tier target for easy credits.
-Enemy arty lights up, scout is killed but noone shot at their arty.
-Now you have no scouts anymore, only slower high tier tanks.
-All you can do is wait for the enemy to make a move.

-Of course their scout flies trough your defenses, lights up your arty which gets blown up by the enemy arty that IS paying attention.
-The scout got trough because every tank on your team thought "Someone else will get that scout further down the line" simultaniously so noone fires a shot.
-Now you only have tanks left against everything but the enemies scout which got killed AFTER it spotted all your arty by the one tanker that did have brains but a vehicle too slow to react.
-Good luck, battle is lost (in 95% of the cases).

This is based on actual battelfield experiences gathered over the past 2,5 years.

I miss the topic of Elevation Angle here:
  • There are multiple situations, where the pieces of US artillery can reach an enemy due to high curve of their shots. However, their shots travel a longer route, thus take longer time to reach the target.
  • Obiect 261 is on the other hand nearly incapable of firing above anything. It is somewhat compensated by nearly instant hitting of the target.

Ok here s my thoughts after almost 20k battles:
Arty is ruining the game, making you camp like a moron all match.
You cannot have a decent 1vs1 because you will be hit from the sky by arty.
The fun of fighting for a street in a town or to fight for a hill or a corner is none because you get hit from the sky with such a immense power that you usually left with 10% HP or less.
It does not matter at all how good are your fighting skills...They are reduced to 0.

And as last thought...Id really really like to see someone from Wargaming play with a jgpze100 when there are 4 X T92 in the enemy team.

These beeing said...i really wish i'd stop paying real cash just to be alive 3 min every match ...ofc because of arty.

Maybe is time to limited arty in this game...  Just maximum 2 arty per team is very OK.! Because in most battle, when the server is full,i see 8 or 10 arty toghether in fight... This aspect ruin the game and transform the game in W.O.A. [World Of Arty].
Keep in mind & remember the historical data with greats tank battles...OK? In any battle of WW II i dont see 5 SPG toghether with 10 tank... Try to respect historic truth.
I want to see in in 8.3 update, maximum 2 arty per team... In 8.3 test is the same disaster with arty...14 arty per game is W.O.A. [World Of Arty].

Make the next Pool Vote in start page of WOT/eu with this question:

"How many artillery want to have in team?"
1
2
3
4
5
None

Please fix this problem!!!

i like to play arty too but i agree there should be a limit of 2 or 3 each side, anything else ruin the gameplay.

? buy telescope? why the h. should arty have it? and dont use camo net instead?
afaik arty rely 90% on scouts and radio not direct view, when is usually too late to do anything anyway..

They dont know their own game that's why and the skills they choose are also wrong, i just go for sixth sense and cammo all over the crew and after that bia.And with net no tank can spot me until he's 3 meters away from me ahahaha.
