Hi All,

I have been getting ever more frustrated by the lack of teamplay in random games to the point that at least 60% of games are not fun because most of my team have run one way leaving 75% of the map wide open. Not only that, nobody wants to take a risk as they expect that they will not be helped by their team mates (I know this feeling very well from bitter experience) so the big group of attackers that have all gone one way get bottled up at a crucial point and as nobody works together to break out or through, they all get flanked and die. Thus, I get left to hold 75% of the map with 1 tank or TD and no hope because nobody is paying any heed to the messages I am posting asking for teamwork.

When I have written about this before I have been told that many people on the EU server don't speak English and this is why so many ignore the messages. That being so, i am wondering whether I should instead play on the North American server because at least the people playing on that server will speak a dialect of English and will be, at least in theory, able to read and respond to messages.

Has anybody tried it? What are the ping times like relative to the EU server? More to the point, can you even convert to another server or do you have to start from scratch?

All I want is to be able to start a game and not know within 45 seconds whether we are going to lose because a modicum of teamwork is employed. I am sick to death of seeing my stats slide to hell because I get unlucky with random matches filled with random sheep.

i've got some bad news for you son. they've got 99 problems and speaking english overthere is also one.

they've got the whole of the US on that server and a couple of SEA players so english isn't the only language :D

as for the teams i expect them to have the same problems as we have.

You'd be disappointed. First, US server has its own share of non-english speakers (Spanish speakers for example). The "siemka" of the NA server is "hola", from what I heard. Second, the gameplay is roughly the same on all the servers, although the RU server does seem to favour more aggressive gameplay. The difference didn't seem that significant though.

ping is around 80 - 120 which sometimes is better than the EU server.

you will need to start another account [which is allowed within the EULA] on the NA server. but i tend to find there is a lot less aggression.

you may get the occasional wtf... but to date i have not experienced any blatant aggressive attacks.

For me the ping on NA-Server was ~60 - 80 ms higher than on EU-Server.

I find the NA server to more civilized in many ways, the lemming train is there just as on the EU server so there is hardly a better teamplay going on, but I find players more ready break away from the lemming train than on the EU server and go and help were help is needed. However the highest number of players online I have seen is just over 33k wich is far less than on the EU server and sometimes I see strange MM.

I've played on the US server during the beta (after server split) just for the English language (which was fine then).
Only problem I had was the timezone difference, as I made friends they were never online when I could play the most games.

So in summary, the ping isn't bad, the gaming is similar but most do speak English?
Finally, you have to create a whole new account.
Anyone know if I can use the same name & e-mail address or would that cause problems logging into the game?

as it requires the NA download of the game, using same name and email shouldnt cause any problems, as long as they are available on their server

I had to use a separate email for my US server when I set that up, but that was a while ago, it could be different now.

I play on the Eu and SEA server since I was from NZ before moving to Sweden, so found many of my friends playing on SEA. Used same email address and login name, no problems. Just have to install on a different folder, otherwise the WOT installer will just install over each other. (eg. Game folder for WOT EU, created Grames2 for WOT SEA) and also rename the launcher otherwise it will install 1 over the other (eg WOT EU and WOT SEA). You do have to start from scratch though, accoutns don't transfer, so any gold or credits etc won't transfer to another server

Interesting to see what events and specials the other servers have, but like the NA but prob more so, the SEA server is very quiet, playing now 10:30am NZ and there is 1393 players. Been in games of 6 v 6. The pings get pretty awful as well, so EU server prob the best (maybe RU too). Not sure if the skills are any better, in fact sometimes it seems worse. Get good players, bad players everywhere I guess :)

I get a ping of roughly 50 on the EU server and 100+ on the NA server. There can be better communication in some games, others not. You get the same arrogant nobodies calling people "scrubs" there, the same as they call people "noobs" on the EU server.

Some games you'll get a lot of Brazilian players so there's less English in a few games than you might expect. I did play one match that started with:
"Hello from England."
"Me too!"
"Belarus."
"Aus."
"Poland here, hey."
"NZ."
Eventually a timid message popped up...."I'm from the US, can I play too?" :)

I would very much like that DashingPanache, as I am interested in seeing how this plays out (no pun intended!).

Playerbase seems smaller when I log in for US server, I've not seen it go over 20k players, having said that I am probably logging in after midnight US time...
