Just wondering if wargaming as seen the recent threat creeping up their ass. The game Warthunder at the moment a free to play game like world of warplanes. At the moment like i just said only planes are avaliable but soon i hear they will be adding tanks and ships (cant confirm the ships at the moment).

From having a little go on the game with the planes i must say it way better than world of warplanes. Much better visuals and much smoother gameplay. Cant wait till they bring tanks in.

Anyway post what you like on this subject i persoanlly think Warthunder may take over wargaming that if their devs are better.

So Serb sober up and watch out for thunder :Smile_trollface-3:

nope, warthunder is only focusing on 'real' tanks, it won't include half of the ones in this game. i doubt that it will be as successful

That all depends like i said. If the devs are better and they dont have stupid invisible tanks im sure people will go to it

Also thats not really valid is it? You doubt it because of the number of tanks it has :facepalmic:

Nah not going to invest in another "free To play " game in the same genre

Oh well i believe in this game as anything could happen. Look at the WarZ that game was going to be a huge competitor to DayZ and look what happend to that  :Smile_teethhappy:

Anything could happen but like i said i belive it will be better

Yup it will be intresting to see what they come up with. This game is to childish for me. No realmism, bad visuals and horrible gameplay doesnt suit me.

Yes i play sometimes as i made the idiot mistake of putting money into the game and i dont want to waste it  :Smile_sad:

If it proves to be better than WoT, then I´ll change sides. But still this concept of tanks can be developed quite differently than WoT currently shows us. I was always wishing for a more hardcore WoT which requires more than the internet connection but who knows?

I play War Thunder since a week. It's a really good game!
The graphic's are good, it supports Multicore CPU's i think.
It has a lot of planes with awesome realistic models and cockpit views.
Lot's of game modes with Arcade Battles to Historical Battles(Team is from one Nation) to Single Player Missions to Full Real Battles.

The handling of the planes is so easy in arcade mode, cause really good implemented mouse aim mode.
If you want to play it like a Flightsimulator with Joystick and more realistic flight characteristics you can also do this.

It's the most fun Flight Simulator i've ever played!

Eh, its just planes, planes are boring :/ only saw screen caps of 2 tanks, Pz 3 and a KV-85, also, the forum community is all ready like this (And the forum is identicle).

Maybe when Warthunder has more tank focus than planes, I'd think about giving it a shot, but not now, not while its basically World of War Planes.

If the "tank" game will be better, they've got me, but those threads/posts are dumb as f*ck. Do you remember BF3? Mechawarrior online? Diablo3? Quite large part of our community seemed to believe that they'll kill WoT. And what happened? Nothing. WT is direct competitor, so we will either have "other" better game, or two comparable ones, which will improve faster cause of that, either way, we're going to have better time driving virtual tanks.

I played War Thunder a lot.. but for those who don't know: The devs at Gaijin are even more money greedy then WG. Game mechanics are broken and it feels sluggish although the engine runs well. Still it's deep beta and IMHO not worth to put any money in it.

Not really, there is no such things like special ammo in this game. Also the Premium Planes cost are just 5-10 €.
You can also do a Testflight before you buy the Premium Planes. I didn't see any broken game mechanics so far.
Game is nearly bugfree.

It will be for me at least since I'd actually like that, I could do just fine without all the prototypes in WoT.

I've been playing WarThunder since early September and I'm actually enjoying it. I have two things against it at the moment, one being the varying and sometimes ridiculous repair costs that apparently are tied to how popular a certain plane is; the other one would be that the matchmaker is far from complete and you sometimes get jets together with biplanes. But the game is far from being launched I guess, and there's plenty of time to change things around.

Funny enough, I received invites for WT and WoWp at the same time and it didn't take me longer than 5 minutes to see which one was the better game. In every aspect WT sets the standard and I think WoWp has a lot of catching up to do. Overall, even if the tank aspect won't be as good as WoT's, I still think WarThunder will be a more pleasant experience and, to me, they seem closer to their goal of having all three aspects of warfare in one game. Already all the maps feature non-controllable friendly and enemy ground units, static and mobile, which you actually have to destroy and can shoot you down; some of the maps also have friendly and enemy naval units such as patrol boats, destroyers, cruisers, battleships and carriers which, alongside shooting (or at least pretending) each other, also serve as mobile AA, and they also shoot you down. All that remains is the implementation of player controllable models and they're set.

Great, so... it's pretty much a mix of WoT, WoWP and WoB? ... Nah, not interested...

Mostly because I despise flying simulators. The only flying game I ever enjoyed was Crimson Skies, and that was so far away from being a simulation that it would have its own solarsystem... And yes, I tested WoWP and though it was the most boring thing I ever played.

But calling this a "threat" to Wargaming.. kinda laughable for me.. Mechwarrior Online fell on it's rusty metal ass, and that was pretty high quality, played it for a while, quite some fun, but really boring for longer time.
