If I`d want to play a plane sim, I`d buy one of those already on the market and play it fully, for a one time fee only. Neither WoWP nor WT can match a sim.. ever.

I play WOT for tanks and nothing else. I have no interest in planes nor ships so, both games mean nothing to me. But there are better choices for planes out there... 1000 times better.

I've just found out that all vital calculations (aiming, hit detection, damage, positioning etc) in WT are done client side and got instantly worried about the future because major hacks and all sorts of cheats are relatively easy to implement in such environment. It's not that I've noticed those things but to be honest, I wasn't playing that much at all. Anyway... if this is true, Gaijin risks a lot and may soon run into serious troubles - especially if they manage to attract huge playerbase like WoT did.

actually that is misconcieved as the hitdetection is server side but your hit indicator is client side meaning it can say you hit shots but the server wont recognise it as a hit, therefore it is a bit like in World of Tanks with the server reticle or normal reticle and everything else you posted is done server side such as damage.

Believe me, trying to fly a tier 9 bomber with no fighter support is just as frustrating as the noobs camping in the forest in WoT!
Nothing quite as fun as flying a tier 2 bomber though. Arcade mode ground strike missions from 4600m, watch the chat as the other team starts raging. And even if anyone does find you, the number of people in low tier games that don't know how to safely attack a Blenheim (I'm one of them).

My personnal point on WT and WoT:

When i started WoT i was very happy to find a tank game, there not so much on the market. Has a fan of war vehicules and history i was a bit desapointed by the so unrealistic treatement of the tanks, engagement below 500m arty with satellite view, but still fun to play. The gold for premium, tank or training didn't worried me (they need money to live and upgrade the game) on the other side gold ammo, equipement... to perform better in game disappoint me. Time pass and after a year of WoT (mai 2011 to june 2012) i got bored before i ever hear of WT.

In December 2012 i test WT and find the good match with my expectation : a game that want to be historically accurate (it's not perfect but so far from WoT), the gold part still use for fast grind but nothing to perform better ingame (gold ammo...). The must is when i see those big beautiful map, i just wonder how they are going to add tanks and ship to make huge battle with the 3 elements (can they ?, how many players in a match?)

There are still some bugs, and those models are just placeholders, + the ground part of the game havent been optimized yet... But I still think it looks good^^

But it will look even better at higher settings and when the engine gets optimized for 2d combat^^

Equally fun is flying through the middle of a furball in your H6K3 and practically painting a bulls eye on your tail hoping someone will decide to punish you for your impudence.
Got three kills doing that earlier. First was a P26 whom obligingly pulled into a spot dead astern at 100m.

I felt bad for what happened next.

The other classic was dogfighting other flying boats with your Catalina, its one of the weirdest fights I've ever been in. Each of us was trying to position it so the other guy was behind us, and the opponent was trying to avoid that.

I don't understand how people can say its good that winning or losing doesn't matter. That's exactly what I didn't like. Basically every player is just hunting his own xp and kills every match, leading to complete lack of cooperation and common goal. At least WoT promotes teamplay with the reward system.

Except that WT rewards you for shooting enemy fighters off the tails of friendly aircraft, so it does infact promote looking after your teammates. I've gone on torpedo runs and had 2 friendly fighters about 1.5km above and behind me ready to dive on any interceptors that try to stop me.

My Catalina got so shot up in a historical battle that instead of diving into the ground like you would expect, it floated down like a sycamore's samara, much to the amusment of both teams. Still pointing at the horizon it fell, spining as it went straight down.

not offensive but WT eats WoT WoWP WoWS  at breakfast..
WT is still in beta mode, and is better at every single topic, u dont need to show something to declare winner, play and see difference.. WT will be Nr1 till some1 beats WT

War Thunder sounds great, instead of just Arty I'll also have to hide from bombers

The only reason I'd consider playing WT would be larger maps with more tanks. Something I hope Wargaming will eventually implement in WoT. I don't need planes (I have both MS Combat Flight Sims here), I only play for the tanks.

How does a tank-less WT beat WoT? Explain that to me Sherlock.

Aircraft games and tank games are VERY different, you'd wanna be comparing current WT testing to WoWP testing. We will have to wait till they add ground combat before saying WT is better than WoT.

Tested it today and the control support is just plain awful. Most of the planes are doing "fishtail" effect which is only happening when you use joystick.

After 2 hours of trying to config my x52 pro for good flight setup i gave up. Il just stick with my old beloved IL-2. I heard theres some planes that dont have "fishtail" effect but i wont bother to torture my self with flying planes that dont suit for joystick.

I played WT and have to say it has its ups and downs.

BUT the biggest problem is see in WT ist when they get groundforces. The game is fun and nicely done. But only for fighters and Ships.
Somhow they completly messed up the scale!
A whole fucking CASTLE is about as big as a Bomber, and by the time u have to land in open field next to some tanks, u will see that a TigerII can drive UNDER your wing...

U have some screens to prove this? I don tespecially looked for this, but in my opinion are the scales right.
