No neg rep from me on this topic but I do disagree with you. The T71 is fast, agile and pretty god firepower for its tier. IMO.

And the T69 I am not so happy with, small and fairly tough, good gun but the reload time is shockingly slow at 24 seconds. Doesnt do town fighting too well due to this.

Bit OT, but hint on the T69: Never go alone. You are a great support tank, but without support for yourself you are toast. Btw, 24 secs drum reload is fairly normal if not good at T8.

Having read this I cannot wait to get T71. Reason is simple, almost unanimously you describe T21 as ok and T71 as awesome. I love T21 so anything better than that is a dream for me.

As for those describing T21 as a waste and comparing it with T20, remember how bad the T20 was before it got the awesome gun for you? That was because it was too heavy and slow so you couldn't get into the correct positions to deal easy damage with the gun - something the T21 doesn't struggle with.

T21 is a special tank, i bought it yesterday and for 17 battles i won only 1, thats why its a special tank coz mm f*cks this tank with team of morons. Recently i found that if im not a top tier with a good tank battle is probably lost, but still T21 is a shity tank, no speed, no acceleration.

The T21 is a great piece of kit, just not when it's fighting against Tier10 tanks, which it does often.  On the occasional battle that you end up against similar tier tanks, it's brilliant.

Ref the T71, definitely a keeper in my garage, though I'm less sure about it's classification.  For me, I never active scout in it, just too vulnerable.  On top of that, it's a complete waste of a tank that is a great passive scout/TD/vulture.

T71 is simply awesome, just don't get killed early, play smart and you can easily end up with 2 or 3k damage trolling high tier heaviesand TDs, if I had a spare crew for it I would probably keep it, and with this months special it even makes a lot of credits.

Most importantly, and I can't stress it enough, don't try to play it like a suicide scout or you will have a bad time and will come to the forum complaining about shitty under powered light tanks. You can scout when its really needed/possible, but mostly you need to look for opportunities to unload in some unsuspecting heavy or TD, you don't even need to be very close the gun with standard APCR ammo is brilliant for sniping, be clever about choosing where to go and uyou can deal massive damage. I remember one match where some idiot called me a noob for not running off to suicide and die, checking his stats later it turned out he had over 800 games in T71 with hardly any kills or damage, true pro one minute scout wonder player, so don't be like him and you will have a great time.

The T21 seems ok, but the real problem is that I have a Chaffee and can't see why I would want to take out the T21 instead other than to grind through it.

I might agree T21 is nothing special, just a regular light tank. Not good, not bad.

But the T71.... c'mon... It is, in my opinion, the best game changer I have in my garage.
A team with a well played T71 has a much higher chance to win. It really does. Of course some maps are more suited than others, but as any light tank, it must be played to his strengths...

It is not a medium tank to go out and 1-on-1 other tanks.
It is not a T-50-2 rabbit tank, running all around the map.

Just like the Chaffee, or a AMX 1375, or even the former VK2801, it is a true light tank. As such, it must be used to relay the enemy movements to our team, spot for friendly artys, finish off low hp tanks.
It's only later in the game you're allowed to go for arty. Going for it to soon it's just a suicide run, depriving your team of a extra gun.

I've lost count of how many games I've done over 2000 dmg or got over 3000 spotting dmg. My highest is close to 9000 spotting dmg.

So the T71 works great at this. Great mobility and cammo; Good speed and acceleration; Great gun, capable of penning every tank in game on their weaker sides. 900dmg in 10 secs, reloads in less than 20s.

It's guideline is basic: Don't get spotted. Don't get shot. If spotted, hide.
For the enemy team, you must be the tank they know it's there, but just don't know where.

At start of battle, you have 2 options:

1 - Do a quick run in the middle of the map, to check on enemy movements. Keep safe. On same maps, there are great bushes you can go for that allow you to spot the enemies; go there if you can. Map knowledge is key.
Always keep an eye for enemy scouts, intercept them always.

2 - Stay near base if enemy team has scouts to counter them. Some maps don't allow for "half court scouting", so sticking near base is preferable.

When spotting behind a bush, if distance is high, you can reverse until bush becomes solid (15m) and shoot. You won't get spotted this way at distances up to 200mts or even less. Depends on a lot of factors, and you never know who may be near you.

In the middle of battle, try to flank and shoot at distracted enemies. If they turn to you, run!!
Use every bush, every rock for cover; Only fire if you know no one will fire at you.
Be as annoying as you can, like those summer time mosquitoes that sting you again and again but you can never kill.

Near the end, go for arty, try to kill it or just spot them for you arty.

If you do this right, and you still loose, you wouldn't probably change the battle even if you were driving your favorite tank.

Have fun.
There is nothing like being an underdog, a puny little light tank in a big T10 battle, and setting an full health IS7 on fire, twice, and watch it burn to death, without even getting spotted.
Or parking behind that big JagdPz E100 and pump 2 full drums in his back.

People complaining on t21 just don't know how to play. At first I was preparing for a though grind and I blamed my few early loses on a shitty tank but now I get good exp and from time to time I get great battles. Killed a Ferdi and t8 us heavy without premium ammo, total 1.4k dmg and 2k in spotting. It was a t10 game and I was the top gun. The teams were quite equal. How can you hate that? Just don't pretend it's a t-50-2 and you are going to be fine.

OP - Are you kidding??

I'm hopeless on light tanks but even I can play the T71. It's loads of fun.

Useless gun? I killed a JPZ E100 with it a couple of days back. Thats what I call satisfaction  :Smile_trollface-3:

T71 is a top scooter shooter... challenged in the fun stakes only by stuff like the Pz1C with the top autocannon...

More smiles per mile...

I regret selling it for the T69, thats a 'pos', which is actually better with the lower gun, the faster reload time is much more usefull than the pen/dmg of top gun, and its a 5 shot, not 4 shot mag.

Sold the T69 and prolly buy back the 71...

T21 is good, but average joe at best. Clearly inferior when compared to t71 which is a beast.
You just have to choose your fights: you don't swap shots with either unlike in heavies.

My replay of my best (and last) battle in t21, good example how to use the tanks' attributes to its best, starting as passive scout and evolving to circling and finishing tanks later on.

I found the T71 to be really dependent on what map the MM gives you.
Heavy chokepoint stuff like lakeville, port or widepark are just dreadful. You have to wait until half the enemy team is dead before moving out and going on the hunt, with little ability to influence the match before that, being at the full mercy of your (often terrible) team :/

On the other hand, open maps like Prokho or Mali are a dream in the 71.

I don't have either yet (about to do the M7 grind which i hated in closed beta) but i can say that i have problems fighting T71 in my T20, i have better armour but not enough to make a difference, he totally out-rofs me and has better agility.  Looking forward to the T69, my fave tank on the test server alongside M48 Patton.

I don't understand animosity towards T21. It seems just fine to me. I liked it more than 59-16. Only had a problem with brutal MM where I got so many bad teams in a row, but every time I got a decent team this tank was pretty good.

The T71 needs an aggresive player that goes straight in to Battle, fires all the shots and go to cover again, than you og back and repeat this full time.
It is not a scout that is sitting in a bush.

T71... Its a shockingly bad tank, no way should you be sitting in a bush.... enjoy this battle

ace tanker, patrol and something else. 11,500 spotting damage, 90k credits and 2290xp. This tank can shine with good communication and a team who know scout mechanics

t71 is like a sewer rat. its small, dirty, hides good, is mostly ignored by the enemy and is vicious and poisenous as hell. i just love this little bastard.
