Hey British tank connoisseurs,

Is there even a remote possibility that they might add a British light/scout tank line? If yes, then what vehicles could it possibly include?

The reason I am asking is, that my Crusader crew would probably like a new challenge some day, and they would most prefer to field another light tank. :)

They should do eventually. The 56 kph Light Tank mk.VI with the 0.5" Vickers HMG or the 15mm Besa might be good fun for tier II. The 64 kph Tetrarch with the 2 pdr or 3" howitzer would be fine for tier III and the 48 kph Harry Hopkins with the mk.XB 2 pdr (with the littlejohn adapter) at tier IV could be great. I'm not saying that this is their exact plan of course, just pointing out that it could be done.

As for higher tiers, Listy did some research and found something about a prototype Scorpion/Scimitar.

Scorpion was armed with a 76mm howitzer which fires the much more effective HESH round (So if they fix HESH, it might be a decent gun) and the Scimitar was armed with a 30mm auto-cannon that fired APDS.

There was also an export varient armed with a 90mm gun.

72km/h, 23 hp/tonne and good optics.

How about the A46/FV301 for tier V and the FV400 for tier VI?

I thought the Scorpion CVR(T) was firmly a 60's design (and thus too late for WoT), or were there prototypes built in 1960?

Oh yeah, that thread covers pretty much the same ground. Looking at the dates of the TV 15000, it looks too late for WoT (1963/1964 seems to be when they were building the prototypes). Also the low velocity 76mm gun on the Scorpion would be a bit crap for a high tier light, whereas the 77mm HV would be pretty good for a tier V/VI light tank.

Oh, there was another topic on pretty much exactly this... And it was fresh too.

Thanks Listy!

Tanks from the mid 60's are already in game or planned, so those aren't an issue.

The 76mm Derp option is much like one of the T-50's guns. But the taking some liberties with history and sticking a Scimitar turret on it with a RARDEN would give options.

The think is the designs are late but I would love one with the 30mm cannon, high right if fire with low damage will make it great fun

Based on published data I would expect the 30mm Rarden would have a penetration of about 110-115mm when firing APDS and I'd guess would have av damage about 35-45, which isn't great at high tier even for a light tank. On the other hand it would be highly accurate and be able to fire fast from a six-shot autoloader, and the reload time for the autoloader should be pretty quick as well.

As I said elsewhere.
The RARDEN used APSE, which squirts WP all over the place after penetrating, so a Tier Appropriate damage buff is viable.
The RARDEN is loaded by three round clips that ca't be changed. So it would be one burst of 3 shots per click, and two clicks per full reload. Although it could be argued that it should be one click, and a very short reload.

I suspect the Penetration is also higher than you list.

You could be right, I don't have reliable info on penetration for the Rarden. However I'd make two observations: first that the GAU8 Avenger cannon (which fires similarly sized projectiles at similar velocities) only claims 69mm @ 500m penetration (which would translate to 80mm for this game, as they correct for the 30 degree angle to the RHA target) when firing API. Also the Rarden was intended for engaging BMPs and other light armoured vehicles, which really didn't have lots of armour to penetrate (30-40mm seems to be the higher values, without doing a lot of research); they didn't really need that much more penetration.

Listy I think the rarden would be best with a fast firing 1 shot per click and 6 shots before a quick 2 second reload, ofc the real rarden can top up with another 3 round clip when firing semi auto so there is no reload time at all, but i am not sure how they would enable that in game.

only vid i can find of a rarden on a warrior firing more than 3 shots consecutive lol

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=LovhFyeCzC8

go to about 330

looks like they have a discipline of firing 5 shots to keep the last one in the chamber

No White Phos in the APSE rounds just secondary effect smoke/flare composition.
