ive just got this tank, easy to elite with only tracks and turret to freeXP.  Side scraping in a medium, you know, that has never entered my tiny mind...ill give that a go.

I've just elited this (free XP) and I can't do it! Yes, only 6 (IIRC) games in, but one win...... I have NO idea how to do it! I'm "ok" in Cromwell, so should I play it like that? Or like a TD?

Its annoying me to the point of just forgetting this line and selling the thing..... yes, I know I've had it 2 mins, but I simply can't "do" it. Bah. And reading that T44 grind is horrid, I'm not sure I want to bother.

Help, please?  :amazed:

EDIT:- MM isn't kind either....

Since the removal of the D10T, it's UP. Except maybe Panther, there is no worse T7 Med.

After 6 battle's? wow...dont bother with T44 really. He has worse MM, worse armor, you will probably do even worse with it than T43
BTW when i had your number of battle's i needed sometimes 100 battle's with a tank to get it work for me.

Do not know how Cromwell is played, but T43 doesnt have TD playstyle as your gun doesnt allow to frontally engage on enemy's.

Go

or
http://www.wot-replays.org/
Download some good replays of T43 to get the idea how to play it.

For me the tank wasnt underpowered like Wolfesblut said, as iD10T gun is far worse then 85BM gun actually.

Aaaaaaaaah, Ok, Carantanian - thanks for that. And yes, I know I've had VERY few battles, but I just have a feeling about this tank. For me its not about getting it to work for me, its having fun with it. Yes, it bounces ok, but I can do very little in the battles and its annoying me already. I liked teh t34-85 - it wasn't great at anything but not poor at anything either. This tank feels similar, but actually below average at everything. :(

I'll see how my patience goes with it today.

Thanks for your input.

Not sure if it will help. :) But since I have some success with this tank I guess I can at least try to explain how I play it. :)

Basically, like a true medium: never engage frontally, try never to get hit, but be sneaky. Search for opportunities to flank.
This tank has a very solid rate of fire, so once you get into a position where you can penetrate your target nicely, unload.
Also, take into account that this tank has very decent gun depression, so it plays more like an American medium then for example the T-34-85.

The above means that you need to be careful at the start of the match, do not rush to a hotspot in on the map if you know it will mean that you can easily get stuck in a frontal engagement, which you never want to do. Also, if you wait a bit to see where everyone goes, it will be easier to find those flanking spots.

Ofc, there will be situations and maps where you will not be able to do the above, tier IX matchups can be unforgiving, but that goes for practically all tanks.

Good hunting!  :glasses:

Again, thanks for taking the time to help me!

As I alluded to earlier, it defo sounds like "Cromwell style", or E8 sherman style. I shall see how I go.

BTW, if it all goes wrong, can i send you guys the bill for a new mouse / keyboard?  :teethhappy:

Well for me T-43 is still not fun tank to play it, I've also started to play with KV-13, now KV-13 stock tanks is even worse then T-43. But T-43 fully upgraded only cost me time and MONEY. I always play with medium tanks, so I don't like frontal attacks but when I play with T-43 is almost always me against Tier VIII and IX. Only thing then is for me to hope that my team wins the game.  :teethhappy:      My good old T-34/85 is still THE BEST !!!

It was actually a somewhat enjoyable grind. Got some machomacho grinding in today to finish it off and the credit income buff for the weekend actually gave the kitten some paws with being able to spray apcr around quite liberally while still being profitable.

I'd still buff the pen to 155 or so.

How the hell can somebody get those numbers with such a crap tank is beyond me.

I admit that in the last stages (before selling it and buying the T-44) if I got into Tier 9 games I suicided. There is absolutely no chance that you can actually do something in those cases.
Especially after getting my ass handed to me by T71s. Repeatedly.

I used optics with full camo crew and also ammo loadout was 20 ap rest aprc which worked wonders in higher tier games.

I recently started playing tthis tank but after 29 games the last thing that comes to mind is underpowered. Unless I go full retard it's a rather good tank and despite me being a terrible scrub, I have 62% winrrate with it.

Although I have to say that the T-45-85 is my all time favorite tank and it's kind of the same tank, which helps a lot

For a tier 7 the T-43 is the only medium that is average at best.  I would not say average is bad, I would describe the T43 as having all the traits of all the mediums on tier 7 so its a very multi-purpose medium.   It is accurate enough to shoot long distance, have enough pen to penetrate all tier 7 heavies except T29 and black Prince, enough mobility + gun depression + armour and gun ALPHA so its all good.

It actually made a nice profit, played most of the games when it made 30% more credits, even without it still made something albeit very little. Those tier 9 games can hit your wallet pretty hard though!
