I've had the pleasure of nearly 30 years of going to gigs from AC/DC to ZZTop and a few inbetween.
So who's the best guitarist in your opinion.
Here's my top shredders in no particular order

Jimi Hendrix(Didn't get the chance to see him but still love his style)
Jimmy Page
Eric Clapton
Neil Young(From Fuzzy Guitar on Rockin in the Free World to the acoustic Heart of Gold I love his work)
Kirk Hammett
Carlos Santana
Randy Rhoads(Didn't get to see him either another one that was taken at a young age)

Over to you lot now!!!!

Andy

Darrell Lance Abbott, also known as Diamond Darrell and Dimebag Darrell.

I rarely get so good guitar parts in songs than Pantera, Damageplan and Rebel Meets Rebel songs... He really did get the style fit for my ear.

Quote

Darrell is considered to be one of the driving forces behind groove metal.

Brian May, Queen
Slash, Guns n' Roses
Mark Knopfler, Dire Straits (probably my favourite)
Synyster Gates, Avenged Sevenfold
Dave Murray, Adrian Smith and Janick Gers from Iron Maiden

I don't think guitar skill is something that just works that simple. Honestly I bet most of the guitarists that are mentioned in this tread are pretty good. But you can't claim one is better then the other as it's opinion stuff

I came across it last year and never did any more research on him. BigDov is right as I remember the original video had over 6 million hits at the time but it is some solo...flawless.

not sure on the hit's but according to that wiki article it was at 90 mill hits in 2011, so could be well in the 100 mill+ region now. but yeah, canon rock is one of the best pieces i've heard on a guitar.
