I think that if you push
an enemy off a mountain or drown them the kill should be yours.

And how the hell is the computer suposed to see the difference between driving off yourself and getting pushed?

Not a programmer, but it would be something along the lines:
If ramming damage = true and time beetween drowning and ramm <12 seconds = true  then kill+1
and same would be for pushing of a cliff, just with a smaller timeframe, as you don't need to wait 10 seconds for him to drown.
Of course, it is far form perfect, but it would cover plenty of cases.

Pretty sure that could be nice to have something along the line to make sure
every kill is accounted for.

Especially when you have some very fun situation where you can push a target to it's death
like I have had in my last battle with my E-100. I pushed an enemy E-100 down the
cliff of on the dragon map.

Not counted as a kill, no reward by the game, even if it was a nice laugh to see him just
slide after the initial push and then falling down the cliff.

Sure with a collision detection and timeframe formula, similar as described by Byoza.
