WoT is very CPU and RAM dependant. How does your system look?

How much video memory?

Usually that 2nd screenshot is because you don't have enough video memory, minimum requirement is 256MB.  You could try lower settings.  Or it could be a corrupted install, try a reinstall.

What video driver version are you using?  Might be worth updating those first.

the olrd 8800gts has 320 or 640mb I think, the new one 512mb.

Do you have the newest drivers installed? Everything above 306.97 has some kind of bug, so those would be optimal.
Did you try to turn down the details and effects?

Now I'm thinking it's a faulty card.

Try a reinstall of WoT, it could just be corrupted.
