Same for me, if you just get max tier VI and most of them are V you can fight with the first gun.
Everything else is just pure horror, now with the 3.7" i am useful for the battles, can´t wait to grind my beloved 32pdr :-)
(I have to admint that i just managed to grind the tracks after that i just had to use free XP for the gun)

I think this box can be nice to play, personally it feels like a 3rd line support tank...

Sorry I need to remove these pros!

- Gun has good penetration, but the DPM will get you killed. You can't play corner fights with this, too hard to handle , going one against one will get you killed, because
   *You fire too slowly
*They shoot trough the front on the fly. Meaning you will get the full damage potential by those little guns in meds and heavies.

True for the ISU, too. Bad TD? No.

Quote

- Good gun depression, again yes, but what are you gonna do with it when the shoebox on the tank is huge and will get shot at before you even see anyone.

It helps in certain situations, doesn't make the GC a good TD. It's a pro, not a big one. Granted.

Concerning the ARL V39: I didn't find it too be that bad either.

Oh wow, this is one of the worst tanks in the game without a doubt!

I will get it - my best bet is that this is a master support - classic one i would say as it has nothing but the gun going for it

That piece of shit with that aiming time and that gun arc?

I do not find it too bad either.  But then I do not equip the top gun.  I go for the 105mm with its 300 damage and 170mm pen.  It aims faster, is not as accurate, but has sufficient pen for its tier and does more DPM than the top gun.

I have not played ISU but I understand it works like this:
ISU:
- take away over a half of the enemy hp with one shot in tier 8 game
- totally smash tanks of tier 6.
- caliber is big enough to damage tier 10 tanks

Churchill GC:
- take 1/4th of the hp in tier 6 game
- caliber is so small that tier 8 tanks are shot for 0 damage mostly (also the problem for ARL V39, you got the pen, but end up in dings and 0 shots)
- ammo price high compared to damage, in other words, this is making negative cash ('persnetto')

You keep comparing stuff while I try to get an objective view of the GC.
Yes, it is a horrible TD, we can agree to that. But I refuse to say that everything about it is bad (pretty close though). There are some minor pros. And again, it's unplayable imho.

Feels very fun TD to play. Especially when I already have a good crew which I took from Churchill I. Driver has 100% clutch braking so this thing turns decently on some surfaces.

What kind of xp have you got with this TD conserning about the 8.4 contest? I did few matches yesterday and managed to get 981xp. I bet that is not enough for those main prizes but there is whole month left to play.

Worst tank in game easy. It's big, it's flat, it's so slow and it has no armor. When they catch you in open you are dead in second.

Easily the worst tank I have played after 20k games. Just terrible.

Awful grind with the joke stock gun, but hope drives you on to research next.

Gun is low in chassis, so can't shoot anything without exposing your huge face which is penetrated by any gun it encounters.

Slow

Slow aim time for the top gun.

This is easily the very worst piece of crap I ever played.

How did the supertesters let this through. Are they on drugs ?

And small health pool.

No way of staying hidden in a bush cos have to move to hit anything = no point in cam net or Binos

Can't climb hills before battle is either won or lost

Just nothing you can do to influnce the game.

Every medium can pen you frontally with their stock guns.

Can't hit a laterally moving target at any range because of the tiny gun traverse and slow aim time on 2nd and 3rd guns.

Appalling view range, so take hits from stuff you can't see.

POS

No, they can "voice their concerns", but its WG decision to tank status. And leaving grind traps/free exp sinks is in WG interest

It's a disgrace. For the first time ever I'm going to stop playing a tank because it's too painful.

I did the old T34 grind without a complaint. I've researched all but 9 tanks in the game prior to this release. I've never had anyhthing to use as bad as this.

Worst tank I have ever played. My stats with it are terrible too. I just don't understand HOW THE HELL DID IT PASS THE SUPERTEST?!
This tank is absolutely useless. Has gun depression, but can't hulldown (because a huge part of weakly armored hull is above the gun - the size of T-34 hull I think - easy target for everyone).
Is slow, but has no armor and no HP.
Gun has penetration, and that's about it. Acc is "decent", but the aimtime and firing arc are TERRIBLE. It also has absolutely no DPM. It gets slaughtered by every other TD 1 on 1. It gets slaughtered by ANY T6 vehicle 1 on 1 actually/
Camo? 380m viewrange Panther detected by GC from... 380m while I wasn't even moving. Yay for the camo - it has Maus camo values.
Oh and you can't unlock any guns for the T7 TD with it, so have fun spending 20k free XP.

I play all TDs in game (in regular server needs AT-7, AT-15, Tortoise and FV to have all) and this is the 2nd worst TD i drive, only SAU is worst because is bad in all main areas where at least CG has 2 good top guns.

Lets see what is a CG.

-armor, totally unusefull, is not strong enough and has 0 angle.
-movility, well, at least is faster than churchill VII but for a TD with no armor... you cant stand and take shoots and you cant run for your life.
-firepower, well, the 3.7 is a good gun for the GC, 32 is excellent... if shells fly where they need fly, sometimes gun enter in a "lets troll" mode where you aim middle and shells move in all directions except where you aim, apart this the gun traverse angle is bad, add to this a high aiming time...
-camo, no coments, is the tier 6 ferdinand.

In protection i need say something that is in close relation with the gun, the gun depresion is great BUT is horrible bad in hull down, why??? because the gun is very close to the floor and the gun superestructure is tall, this means that even when you have gun totally depressed and YOU DONT SEE ENEMY he can SEE YOU!!!! with the total shit armor that the TD has... many times i receive shoots in hull down position from enemies that detect me.... fight when you are climbing or defend elevated terrain is a pain EVEN vs tanks that are not specially good on this fights type.

My average xp is 586 in 101 battles (i use free xp to have the 3.7) and in AT-8 using free xp to have the 2nd top gun (148 pen) i have 1.046 in 10 battles and i have 1 sniper and 2 steel wall in both... true tier 6 TD is AT-8, CG is collector tank and a way to grind AT-7 when you are grinding to the tier 8 and to have 32 pounder ready for AT-15 and avoid a grind.

IMHO even the mighty Somya Sau was less pain than this Churchill GC.

Youask me why,I answer:
*more speed
*less xp to grind to next one
*now it has silver-gold derp rounds
*less experienced players against you (smaller tier)

I have a habit to like/love odd lookong tanks and such so i realy looked forward to this rare not well known historical AFV. But ! WG devs, again proved they are professional creating  wehicle's with nerve-racking drawback('s). I will wait untill my crew reach 100% and see how better it gets, but now its just simply unbearable, it has so many major faults

1. Bad aimtime, 2.9 sec (32 pdr)
2. Horrible horizontal gun arc, which forces to turn the entire hull, which kills the (already bad aimtime) camo net and the binocular telescope if mounted
3. Bad hull travers speed even when upgraded, an rheumatic sloth is aeble to outturn it
4. Low gun position, if the player try's to use the good gun depression to "hull down" he will eventualy expose the weak ~90 mm flat supertructure which is insignificant for protecton in tier 6-8 battles
5. Ohh! I almost forget, its slow and the acceleration isn't good

The ARL V39 with the 90 mm DCA 45 AC has almost the same problems, but at least it was agile and sufficiently fast

I completely agree with  Loofah

SAU is a tank for pro's (read: HEAT). And then it's a great tank (compared to other tanks, not just OP Hetzer).

I am astounded, the words "very fun TD to play" and the churchy GC just don't belong in the same sentence as far as I am concerned and why would u take a heavy tank crew into a TD?

I have played quite a few tanks in this game and this ranks as one of the worst, it's sold and I am going to do the brit TD line the "normal way" ie free xp to alecto and then grind on up ;).  Am I missing a trick tho? Are the lower tier TDs worth a blast?
