Anyone here have AT-8 now?

When I look on it.. just wow..  2nd gun for 4k exp  do only 91 penetration.
Seems WG really want we spent gold ammo on british TDs :(

You just need to bare it. Next gun is you classic UK Tier VI gun. But even Tier VII TD is kind of weak (but a little better compared to USSR second TD line).

I dont have a problem with the guns... but compared to the AT2 the AT8 is riddled  with huge weak spots.

The whole right side only has 76mm armor, the view ports always take full damage and because its such a low tank you can hit the cupola quite easy.

this.

The tank could have 1 million mm of armor but it doesn't make a difference if you can easily hit its weak spots even from medium range because they are so big.

And my best battle in it.

Any tips? I think the AT 8 is one of the worst tanks I have ever played in the game, I liked the AT2 but this, is just awful.

Really enjoying this tank, glad I got through the AT 2 grind, was worth the pain. It's armour is better, feels like there are less weak-spots.

sorry but compared to the AT2 the AT8 is plastered with weak spots:

the AT7 is a lot better in that regards

also the AT2

Its bouncy when people are to retarded and keep shooting the front of the armor. Since you basically have a 50% chance to bounce 200mm pen guns even from 100m when they shot the front it can bounce quite something.
The AT7 gets even better at that because you can hide 90% of your tank, so you have a small target that is armored with 203mm, but starts to meet T9 which just laugh at your flat armor. But at least you have a decent gun.

And yes I agree the AT15 and Tortoises is a lot better, gut the AT15 has quite a huge weak spot.

Look quite strong

You can download the wot model viewer here:
http://www.rextimmy.com/

and just show the collision model, and its always up to date, thanks to relying on the game (unlike gamemodels3d who also charge for higher tier)

Just want to point out, the manlet weakspots can be offset the same way you can in an AT15-A wiggle from side to side when your reloading. Makes it harder for enemy tanks to get a flush shot.

Sit still and you deserve to be pened through the mantle on these tanks.

the problem with british TDs is they are rof tanks, so wiggling will reduce your rof, its not that much a problem in T9, you have 5 seconds reload on the AT15 with the B barrel, 2 seconds go off for aimtime.

While all the enemy has to do is autoaim....

tors has no  gun mantle weakspost compared to many of the other britsh TD, angeling doesn't mean much when behind the spaced armor there is 0mm of real armor.

a 5 sec reload and a ~1.7sec aim gives you a surprisingly long time to move around, espically when you consider it's at low velocity too so the recticle dosn't grow too much. Also the guns are already some of the most accurate in the game, so even when you're taking shots which are not fully aimed they're pretty accurate close up, when moving around is most important.

Finnaly unlocked the 77mm and after this its a very beastly TD, you finally can penetrate T6 reliably. Also finally all those KV1s can't just auto aim at you and penetrate you all the time.

this tank is fucking useless, redundant armour and slow as hell.

slow.. yes.

useless, no.

considering thats my highest avg dmg on T6 so far its quite usefull.

Also its quite the money maker, right now I make ~11k per net profit because ammo is quite cheap and your repair bill is often quite low.

Ok finished the grind with a hair under 69% winrate and was quite ok.

Whats with the 3rd engine? It has the same horse power, same weight and same chance of fire as the 2nd one, am i missing something? Or is it just like the retrogressive 2nd gun?
I grinded the Alecto fair n square and hated it, the AT-2 was more than i could stand with its lolguns so i skipped the 2nd half of the grind with free xp and thankfully had enough left over to get the Church 1 gun unlocked. For anyone who has to grind that out i truly sympathise.  I think things will be ok from here on in, the guns seem like heaven after the 6 pdr on AT-2.  As for the weakspots i guess it's best to keep these things at a good distance from your enemies, at least the guns are very accurate which helps with this.  When i fought other AT-2 with my AT-2 i could shred them very quickly if i was close enough by shooting the commanders cupola.  Really glad i tried the Tortoise on the test server, so i know this is all worth it! (provided they don't blast the tortoise into oblivion with the nerfbat)  :Smile_trollface-3:

at8 - player base are learning its weak spots and they are bad. Big arse weak spots + slow moving  getting more games that i am dead in two shots.. it sapose to be this big arse TD and its turning in to a marzipan weaklin... cant even out gun then as it take sooo many shots to kill any one lmfao.... AT7 looks like its going to have the same problem with the big arse top hatch :( its not to bad when your able to hide them a little but most times its not possible to hide them and be effective :(

If you're doing this after 15 battles you used gold/free XP to bypass the starting guns. You have for too high a penetration ratio AND average damage per penetration to be using the first or second gun.
