Who will win maus or challenger 2?  Challenger is a heavy armored Tank and Maus too.

Maus is no-where near as armoured as a Challenger these days.

Even an old Chieftain has better armour than the Maus (Around 400mm effective on both upper glacis and turret).

Not to mention the huge speed and mobility advantage the C2 has and then the gun which can easily out-range it and still hit it much easier than the Maus could hit it back.

Mate, just think about the ~70 year time gap between their development. The FT-17 has a closer time period to the maus than the challenger 2, nuff said.

Well considering that Challenger II has more armor, higher top speed, more accurate and more powerful gun, greater mileage, modern sensor equipment, smoke grenades... I think the Maus will be a smoking wreck long before the crew even realises there's another tank nearby. Next topic please.

Let's lay off the neg-rep guys, the guy just asked a question, even if it is incredibly easy to answer.

Unless we're talking a tug-of-war, the Challenger, or any other modern tank, would eat a Maus alive.

maus armour is... well i guess "pure" steel, and modern tanks have all kinds of armour, steel, uranium plating, reactive armour. everything combined with good mobility, compared Maus.

and gun department, the maus does not even need to show up, they whould be deciding which round they should load when the challenger hit them.

BUT ofc, its not a stupid question, not at all. what human could without any experience with tank imagine that a gun could shoot through maus' armour?

like me in my childhood :P tanks was not to be destroyed i thought. LOL

That certainly is not true. A hit in the right place is always destructive.

I think a T-55 could take out an Abrams tank from the right angle and distance.

No.

there is really no time line, just some requirements:

- No smoothbore guns (no self stabilizing shells)
- No reactive armour (because that was mainly a response to guided missles or "TOW") or any other kind of special armour not made of steel (like uranium plating like the abrams have)

Well if the Maus somehow outmaneuvered the Challenger and Shot into his Rear the Penetration Power of the 128mm Gun would be more then sufficient to Kill an Challenger 2 Tank.

But guys I think this guy is trolling with you here.

Challenger 2 is an Main Battle Tank developed in the late 1990s the Maus was Developed more than 40 years earlier.
The Maus is basicly not Armored at all in the face of an Tank Gun of 1986 and the Maneuverability of the Challenger is on par with WW2 Medium Tanks.

Its like asking wether your gaining more fat from an single leaf or from an 3 stages large cake.......
