One major flaw in the design of the AT-2 and its bigger brothers that nobody ever seems to shoot at.

I'm amazed that most people aren't shooting at it to begin with. The thing screams weakspot.

Might have been a bad idea putting this video up though. If you start dying a lot more in your AT-2 you now know why.  :Smile_blinky:

It's good to tell randoms about weakspots, many people at T5 just fire in geeneral direction, so this may improve the general skill level of the population. So I would gladly give + 1 if I had any left :)

However, from the practical point of view:
Doing the same from 120m away or vs somebody that is moving back and forth in a random fashion angled at 45 degrees at 80m would show that "shoot the cupola" is not really always working. We have to remember most T5 guns are damn inaccurate.
I have yet to meet AT-2 close range. Every single time I have fired at it, it was at longer range, and in such case 226 penetration wasn't going through reliably, and that's roughly 2 times the average penetration at T5.

So cupola is "kind of" weak, but to kill this tank, you have to get close. And "close" to rapid-firing 57mm gun is not a good place for any T5 tank,

Track it and flank it is my motto. I flattened a poor AT-8 earlier with my T29. Just went hull down and smashed his cupola to bits while he cried in chat that I was a gold spamming noob.

Haven't had any 1 on 1s with British TDs yet, surprised nobody shoots there. +1

There is no need for aiming at cupola on AT-8, because it has a larger weakspot available :)

@Tommy if that's the case then why are there so many rage threads against this tank? Is it because the community at large is terrible and just bangs away at the hull expecting to pen it? This video is just me telling people to take a chill pill as the AT-2 is seriously easy to kill.

Your sarcasm needs a little work by the way.

Watching this video made me remember the times when there were lot less tanks only 3-4 tier X 's
....in those times i was grinding german tree to maus (yep there was times without E-100).
When i was on tiger 2 i started to "feel the game's mechanics".... and i realised i can only be effective if i aim the weakspots on every tank... it did not made a difference if i shoot a 3 higher or 2 tier lower it was crucial to aim maybe the only exception was the maus before it was nerfed.
I miss those times when only tier IX with best stuff and tier X had privilege to autoaim shoot and forget everything strategy. :Smile_harp::arta:

(ofc even IX's & X's were more effective when aimed )

That community don't read forum, so you can't help them. Whoever read forums, figured out that huge weakspot by himself already, so you can't help them either.
Here, no sarcasm

Thanks! I just figured it out in my last game today. AT-8 was bouncing my Panthers top gun, so I just tried and it worked :)

Actually you don't need to get close - they will do it for you ;). Because most of those at-2 guys think they are godlike and they simply drive towards you. And when this happens and they are close enough, I always have a big surprise for them ;)

This! +1 mate for pointing out that most AT-2 drivers have a god complex!  :Smile_teethhappy:

I killed a AT-7 from 300m in my KV-5, all shots hitting the cupola, trust me, its a shot magnet and a way to get some screaming GOLD AMMO NOOB FFS*&$**£^$*£&.

Yeah, just like 2 shots at a bar on top of E-100 in Pershing from 550m away happened to me once. Of course with regular ammo. But this doesn't prove anything, and KV-5 will miss 13/15 shots at this cupola from 300m. This of course doesn't mean your story is not true. It's all about the probability.

I must admit that I'm getting a tonne of views from the pure, unbridled rage people have for this tank :)
