The tank looks so beefy and powerful in real life, but in-game it seems thin and weedy, I'm not sure why.

I do wish WG would make a premium Tiger with L/56, I'd buy it instantly.

Tiger, still one of the most iconic tanks of the whole war.

Nice vid. Legendary tank in RL. A pile of crap (except maybe the gun) in Wot.

Those who want to get a (slight) idea of how it was to operate the Tiger I, and how it looked inside, might want to take a look at this video

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=_XuSMr3bEFg

(for instance around 0:08:00 in the video)

Legendarily knocked out by QF-6 guns... Very interesting video anyway, I'm looking forward to the next parts.

If only, "131" is treated like royalty, it only goes out twice a year, hence the reason I want to get footage of it moving at Tiger Day  I will beg but !
Part 3 (tbc) I will be talking to the Driver who takes us through the "first parade" start up etc.

For anyone that is seriously interested in tanks, Tiger 131 is a MUST.  The video is well presented by the legendary David Willey who's knowledge of Armoured Fighting Vehicles is second to none.  What he doesn't know can be written in lrge letters on theback of a postage stamp!

For anyone that is lucky enough to get to Bovington for Tank Fest, you'll more than likely get to see 131 in the 'flesh'.  For those fyou that are a bit to far away, there are 2 resources that you might want to look at.  First is a great book (co-written by David Willey incidently) in the Haynes Workshop Manual series simply called TIGER TANK  http://www.haynes.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10001&productId=52819&langId=-1  It is packed with all the facts about the TIGER and specifically the restoration of 131.  The pictures inside are awesome.  I have copy that I won in an online competition and it's fantastic.

The other source is YOUTUBE, where there are quite a few clips of 131 an example being this one http://www.youtube.c...h?v=KrIAGtKvSNA

If you ever see this tank running in RL, the hairs on the back of your neck will stand up!

Simply put...... A Legend !!!

To be fair "knocked out" probably not. The story is in places sketchy and there are a couple of theories. But "131" was (according to Lt Peter Gudgin"-48th RTR)  found "abandoned and virtually undamaged on our objective. It had been hit by a 6pdr shot from one of our tanks that had ricocheted into the turret ring preventing the gun from traversing".

Forensic tests of "131"  show it was hit by at least three 6pdr anti-tank roads, at least 30 .303 rounds and approximately 13 shrapnel hits. Of these it was reckoned at least five happened in the last combat although perhaps all occured at the same time. This attack "may" have caused injury to four of the five man crew.

So basically just disabled, by no means knocked out. (Knocked out being totalled/unusuable/scrap)

Well, it was driven from where it was found abandoned to Tunis, so yes..... not knocked out!!!

I suspect that when the projectile that jammed the turret traverse hit it, and the crew relised it was a sitting target all thoughts of National Socialism and the the 1000 year Reich went out of the window rather rapidly :)

Of course the capture was so valuable that when it was moved to Tunis for examination the Prime Minister Winston Churchill, and HM King George VI visited it.
