I just got this tank and I'm loving it so far.

Battle: Malinovka 27 April 2013 13:06:42
Vehicle: T21
Experience received: 1,678 (x2 for the first victory each day)
Credits received: 25,040
Battle Achievements: Master Gunner, Sharpshooter, Mastery Badge: "2nd Class"

That's a stock T21 in my first ever game.  Being a bush wookie with a gun is pretty handy :D  75% crew too.

I doubt I'll be getting those games often, but its such a chuckable tank in terms of agility already.

The problem with the T21 is that it doesn't excel in any aspects compared to the usual scout. It still has an above-average view and signal range compared to other tanks in its tier, but that's about it. Despite being a meh tank I did surprisingly fine because I played it like my M4A3E8 with with better camo and worse matchmaking as a sneaky flanker and occasional passive scout.

So far I love it.
11 battles, 1388 DPB, in my record battle I dealt 3k+ (can't remember how much) dmg and spotted enough to get Patrol Duty from what I remember.
The tank really works nicely, topspeed could be better, but it climbs like a rocket, and the viewrange + binos make it a monster of a passive scouting :)

Real problem of this tank is... very low ammo count. I basically managed to chew through almost all my shells in 1 battle and was forced to fire gold ammo at weakly armored targets as a result. Low penetration doesn't help, but well, I'm rich, I can use a prem shell here and there to hurt some tougher targets (E-75/VK-P sides f.e.).
If Chaffee is  similiar to T21, but better, I think I just have to get it!

This tank is the first Scout I did well with. I do well with this Tank, even if the MM hates me and throws me yet aggain into another tier 9 Game on Himmelsdorf. First I had no clue how to play this tank, but now I think I have got a hang of it. The best part (for me) is that this tank performs well in the part of playing light tanks, that I like most. Circling slow heavys and TDs. I loved doing that in my M7 and I love it even more in my T21. After only 50 battles I am 20k XP away from unlocking the T71.

WOW! I'm loving this little thing. Nver really played scout tanks, but I just click with this thing.

My first battle I did this:

It does definitely chew threw the ammo quickly, but the gun's much better than it looks on paper. Front armour is completely irrelevant, so the pen is not just ok, but very good (for side and rear armour).

Very much looking forward to the grind to T71!

It's basically a better T21, only it sees tier VIII arty (more of an asset (allies) or target (enemies) for a light tank, though) and probably runs into other higher tier enemies more frequently.

Better penetration/accuracy/OTM dispersion/aim time on the gun, slightly longer view range.

I've got it to get to try the american revolver slingers and I must say, I'm quite happy. At first I thought I was in for a lousy grind, but this tank is actually fun. Not as fast as the cromwell (one of my favorites), it performs well, its agile and it stings even the highest tier tanks in a shoot out. Yes I do loose to an IS7 in a face off, but I still get to hurt him. Usually I get ignored when stinging in brawls, because I hang with higher tier med or heavy tanks and when I have taken 5-600 hp from, perhabs crit hit, a tier IX or X it still counts.
Being true to the American ideal, I run a rammer so I get to throw more ammo at the enemy, spaced armor, making it better at ramming and coated optics... Great fun to ride this little devil ;)

Using spall liner on a tank without armor is the worst idea ever. It makes your tank slower, easier to hit and it doesn't really help when getting hit by HE anyway, nor does it really reduce the ramming damage. It makes your tank heavier, but you are generally too light to seriously ram anything. If you want to ram, controlled impact will help you 10 times more - but it's pointless for this tank anyway.
Replace spall liner with vents or vert. stabiliser. Much better idea.

I just finished my run with the T21, it was good fun I'm a little bit sad about leaving it behind but I don't have a suitable 2 skills unlocked crew to pick the vehicle up so there's no choice to leave it behind.

It was expensive to run (was going with a 35 AP, 30 APCR, 5 HE loadout to still have damage potential in the high tier games) but very enjoyable that way. It only took 68 games with a 62% win rate to go through it, it behaved a lot like my good old chaffee in many ways.

It seemed to be a pretty good one to spot a bit with early on and then when tanks have thinned out (or with high on the list from the start) take out some enemies, don't go for the one on one close up encounters unless you know its a heavy you can circle without getting hit by extras. But look to support others that are in a conflict your speed can get you there in time or the camo can keep you safe while shooting them from a distance, to damage a lot of enemies frontally. Also pretty good for arty hunting when its relatively safe (aka, main blob of tanks have moved away from spawn and not on your route), for this though sixth sense and a bit of decent camo is a must (like on any light tank you care about).

This approach will depend on your willingness to run negative due to shooting APCR but to me fun comes before profit :) Especially now that all my tank goals have been achieved and I keep my credit pile steady at 4 million, if it drops I just refill it by driving more profitable vehicles.

Nice game.

Reading through some of the topics, makes me want to grind out the Chaffee as a keeper now.

Loved the T21 and could not believe all the rave reviews the T71 got and the meh reviews for the T21. I almost made it a keeper. Didn't really have the garage space and wanted to see if the T71 lived up to the hype. Found the T71 harder to get the hang of initially but now I get what people see in it. I am no expert in it, in fact far from it - but I do enjoy it more than any other light tank I did so far. Still miss that T21 but it is no longer at the forefront of my mind...

I had a very gruff start with the T21. After 6 matches my WR was 33,3% and I had zero kills.
I then cursed the tank to damnation. But slowly I got hang of it and even started to enjoy it.
The biggest downside for me was the accuracy which took some time to get used to as I came straight from the Auf Panther.
In the end I did quite well:

i played with the amx first and not having an autolaoder and keep circling a target while shooting every 3sec is less stressful ( like the chaffee)

i don t have the cash for the T71 bu t i guess it gonna be like playing an amx again, thinking twice before shooting because there will be the reload timer...

but at least, u get some postitive cash with the T21, way harder with my chaffee..

dunno if the T71 is cash friendly or like the chaffee...

I think the T71 makes more than the Chaffee.  That said the Chaffee should break even if you're playing ok (and I'm not any more but I was when I started with it).

My best game so far with this tank.

And the best part of this battle is that our Foch155 called me a n00b. LoL.Overall I don't like the tank and it's super boring to play, for me at least. Without a premium account it's a bi**h to grind.

Sounds like the T21 plays like the Type 62
