Just got my Ace badge in the Locust:
http://dl.wot-replays.org/51602f995985d19064000008.png

Normally more of a tank for picking up confederate than Top Gun.  Such a sweet tank, fast enough, gun is nicely balanced great camo.  Can't really fault it at all particularly as it has given me a 60% WR well above my general average.

Highly recommended as a fun tank next time they discount it.

I totally agree, gave me ace tanker the very first time i took it out.

Nothing better then to get rid of your high tier frustrations every once in a while with a fast, bouncy, not so agile T3 light.

Late to the M22 appreciation thread.

I love it such a sweet nippy tank, Two downsides that make me sad are the turning circle of an ocean going liner at speed and the fact that it only carries 50 shells. Had several games where I am last man standing but simply don't have the ammo left to finish of all the enemy. Still a great fun tank especially as I got mine free in a mag.

Great tank could not play it properly at first but with experience I am getting better at it.

I bought this tank with a gold crew, it makes so much fun. Its fast and the gun got a good aiming time, the damage is ok too. Im playing aggresive spoting with this tank, cruising around between the enemies and hunt arty, kill solo tanks and im often in Level 3 and Level 4 Games. Its a perfect newbie tank.

Got the M22 Locust for my birthday, lucky me. Took a few tries to get Ace Tanker, have had very enjoyable games with it. Play it a bit less now that I'm working on a couple of light lines. It's not only a good scout, harassing and baiting works great too. It even manages to land hits while full on the move. That was a pleasant surprise (for me, not the Chi-ha I aimed at.) Should play it more often, though.

The only thing it misses is that aeroplane, a parachute and an option to choose your own spawn spot. Glad to see other people enjoy it too.

Can you suggest equipment/consumable loadout?
My current pickings are:

Fire extinguisher, small health kit and 100 octane gasoline.

I've been running standard scout config on vents, camo, binocs.  I probably don't need the net as it's with the chaffee crew with full camo, but as I'm using binocs I might as well.

Fun and nice-looking tank. And in this tier premium ammo is so cheap that there's no reason not to use it with this tank. It's going to run out of ammo fast if it bounces too much. Plus, getting some tier 5's is not so horrible in that case. Completely playable with flanking.

It is the most fun tank until tier 6.
The only downsides are no armor, bad turning and low ammo load for its 2.3 sec reload gun. All the rest is excellent.

Haven't been doing so well with the Locust for a while and the WR has slid down but this battle was nice.

Tier 5, did some useful scouting and then the loader found some APCR shells gathering dust

I took my Locust out after a long time, and I ended up in a nice 10 kill battle. Good and fun tank, I have to remember to take it out more often!

Just bought This little bugger, and I intend to train My T71. Crew in it.
Some questions:

I found a statement that it has great camoflage value, but to play passive scout in Low tier is challenging. How do you scout with it?

800 creds for premium ammo seems like a bargain. Do you load only premium? I consider that, since I dont run This tank to earn credits.

Greetings from Sweden // Pär

I only have 5 APCR shells for emergrency with me, I try to get the job done with with normal ammo. I think if you need the APCR with this tank, you´re probably attacking the wrong tank any will die anyway soon. Scouting with this is so much fun, ti makes me smile almost every tie. When tier 4 or 5 I try to use my good camo value to spot (passiv when possible) and use the chance to get to thier arty, hunt them down and attack the rest from behind.

What do you recommend for the crew, Mine is an Locust only cerw as I don´t have any other light american tanks. I figured out that I take recon fro the commander (till I get 6 sense) and teh remaining two camouflage. Is that all right?

Equipement is the obvious vents, binocs and camo net.

Have optics, binos and camo. Works well.

Have to think about apcr, but its nice to pen even heavy tanks.

Have 4th skill with Two members...

6th and camo.  Then camo on commander and offroad and snapshot or similar.

I´ve ran a few games with it now, and have mixed feelings. Heard about it´s great camo value. But i don´t think it is as great as the T2 light tank.

Gun is fast, but hardly penetrates. Even if I fire premium shells.

Crew is very skilled, and is usually driving my T71 and T2 light tank. Still no ACE tanker though, so I quess that there are ways to drive it good.

But for now, I am not impressed with it´s performance......

If you think you don't need APCR with this tank you are swimming in mediocrity and will never improve because religious mentality is preventing progress.
