If you think you don't need APCR with this tank you are swimming in mediocrity and will never improve because religious mentality is preventing progress.

What?!

Your religious mindset prevents you from understanding the value of premium ammo.

You won't find a single great tanker who will say "you don't need premium ammo if you know where to shoot / are skilled enough".

Got it in the most recent sale to train up my T1 crew for team battles and I absolutely love it. Not sure why the comment on turning circle above I start scouting then flank and circle strafe and manage this no issue the opponents turret can't keep up with you. I'm usually pretty rubbish at lights and mediums but tanks like this and the Cromwell are just great all rounders and most importantly fun to drive.

You´ve got problems, dude! Feel free to spam APCR with the Locust, I try to use it only when it´s really needed.

I think Dongfeng_division might be referring to this http://www.sirlin.net/ptw-book/intermediates-guide.html which makes many excellent points, but may well not actually apply to you!

I own one Locust myself. It has great value to me (i was born 22 August). It is great ingame. I got Topgun and Defender on it, and i mounted enhanced suspension.

Just bought it few moments ago for 450 gold - biggest bang for buck for sure! It is really funny tank to drive and you can really relax and enjoy. Just take care in tier5 battles.

I use my T1 crew in my T2 light and bought the Locust (sale) to help train them even faster but I can't get to grips with it? I have a 55% WR in my T2 and play it as a fast active scout. Tried the same with the Locust and can't make any progress at all? I seem to get knocked out early in every game by either a TD or a Pz.1c.

try and stay alive a bit.  It's got good camo so can passive scout.  Keep you gun silient it it's not needed in the early game.

I don't have it in my garage but I played a bit with Locust on a friend's profile. And I like it very much...the speed is amazing and the gun is good too.

I absolutly love this little bugger. Looks like alot of people run it as a passive scout more or less. You are missing out bigtime.

Only had it for 95 games, running at 71% winrate so far, aced on first outing. Such a little beast, troll armor for its tier for sure.

Hits most of the time on the move, regardless of speed, run around as active scout and [edited]kicker with this is great fun, its low profile makes it perfect for scoot and shoot.

With a 3skill crew, springs - coated optics and  encanched gunlaying drive this thing dishes out damage heavily for its tier while scooting by people who cant hit it for jack due to speed while you keep landing shots in them at 70kmh. :izmena:

This is my absolute favourite tank i have so much fun driving the Locust, whenever random [edited]make your life miserably at higher tier and you feel like putting a boot in your screen just ready up in the Locust, press "Battle" and enjoy the ride.

First battle this morning i got a tier 5 game, ended up with Top Gun, High Caliber, Defender, Patrol Duty + 4-5 of the minor ones, almost 1100 damage and 600 spotting assist and it was still not a mastery badge or mark of excellence (because we lost the game i guess) so i guess im not the only one sealclubbing like crazy even in tier 4-5 games with this thing,

I prefer the T-15 over Locust for the fact its mobility is better (turning way faster) and it has 30mm frontal so its immune to PZ1C spammers and such unlike the Locust.

T-15 also gets quite close to VR cap so its worlds better as a t5 game scout.

i like both though.

T-15 support only Luchs crew training 1:1 - where as Locust only matches T71

I like the looks of this tank, after all it's cheap ;)

As it's only got a 3 man crew, how much good is it as a crew trainer?  I've got a T37 just started, with a 75% crew, as I see it I can either spend my gold on training them or the Locust, but if I buy the Locust it only trains 3 at a time......

Anyone got any experience / suggestions on this one?

Thanks in advance.

It may train only three, but if you use Accelerated Crew Training it will train them pretty fast at least. Because ACT is double crew experience for 1 crew member per battle they're essentially taking turns for the bonus, so less crew means that each crew member gets the bonus more often.

Locust is very nice little bugger. However T-15 is a bit better in pretty much everything:

4 crew instead of 3 (same as luchs)

better armor (you'll bounce pz1cs and stuff). Locust is paper.

T-15 has got more ammo than 50 shells on locust. One really needs to conserve ammo if battle last longer. In maps like province you are guaranteed to ran out of ammo if team crumbles. Can't recall ever running out of ammo on T-15.

Still very nice tank. By far easiest murican L:T prem to perform in (T1E6 and Car is much harder to get hold of if you didn't get them during handout and much more difficult to play with).

One should get both Locust and T-15. They are dirt cheat and great fun. Much seal clubbing though.

I bought it, for the price it was a 'why not?' purchase really.

So far I'm not that impressed with it, the scouting ability is OK, but not up with the Chaffee I'm running as my principle US light tank.  The gun is definitely a lot meh, I've never had so many bounces as with this tank.  It is fast though, but not fast enough to out run some of the nastier tanks it faces.

I've paid for it so it'll be kept, but I don't see it getting much play time until I work out how to do better in it.
