Sweet. It's a shame the Dutch government got rid of all the tanks. Bunch of hippies  :sceptic:

Was the driver on a Leopard ARV untill about two years ago. Man do I miss that vehicle.

But what are you saying, have the Netherlands gotten rid of their tanks? Too bad, I was on winter excersize with those guys when I was in service.

Sad to hear that. Those were some great guys. Gave us cocoa and chocolate when we were working on pulling their Leo's and Büffel's out of the ditches. Snow and slippery roads aren't exactly your strongest point.

SURE
Leo was using peace time tracks so not to damage the roads, these had rubber blocks, made it possible in snow or on ice to do a 360 degree slip with a good driver

have you ever wondered how big a granate is?
imagine the cramped size of the turret and in there the loader needs to handle granates wich wheigh over 32 Kg

this image shows a loader of a Leopard 1 bringing a 105 mm HE shell to his tank

Overloon Warmuseum 19th of May
Because the T34 broke down, they had to replace one of the driving tanks. So  they took the Leopard 1 out for a drive:

When I have time I will edit the videos of the Leopard 1 driving and its engine startup and shutting down.

I was a LaRo driver in 87-88 for B eskadron 59TKBAT and I love these machines. The sound of this machines is awesome...besides that I think it is a beautiful tank as well.

Also the scenes I saw when on a drill or at the shooting range in Bergen Hohne....wow
