With the new 2nd anniversary garage background my GPU goes up to 68 degrees celsius but in game I only reach 59.

WG fixed the garage last patch by limiting the FPS in garage and reducing the pointless over usage of the GPU but now WG made the exact same mistake again.

My question is: Does WG never learn from previous mistakes and is there a temp fix untill they bring the fixed garage back?

What's the problem? 64C is hardly toasty for a GPU and the reason you're only hitting 59C in game is because the game itself is more CPU intensive than GPU. If you were having silly high temps like 80-90C+ then i could see an issue.

I bet that if someone gave you a gold bar, you'd complain that it was too heavy.

Noise my friend, noise. It varies of course on the hardware, but general rule of the thumb is - higher temperatures-faster spinning fans-more noise. Also, the point here is that something is seriously messed up, as a stationary garage i more demanding than a 3d gameplay...

Exactly. My fans spins much faster and makes more noise. On top of that it's a waste of energy to have a stationary garage use 100% of the GPU when it's not necessary.

Also if I leave it in garage for many hours in will make the heat build up and result in artifacts (which is a sign of overheating).

Before anything worse happen to your hardware better turn vertical sync in the game options on.
Or if you have nvidia card you can turn on adaptive vertical sync in the nvidia settings.
For ATI i dont know bur there must be an option like that too in the catalyst control center.

Ok i know its not there for ever but it sucks your fps to death

http://www.fileswap...._12apr.rar.html

unpack it and you will have a folder named hanger_premium_12apr

you need to put this folder into :-
games/world of tanks/res mods/08.4/spaces

i havnt worked out how to remove the sounds but this takes off the stupid hangwr and replaces it with a blank hanger which i use anyway

Even when Im alt-tabbed out of the garage, my GPU temp is around 69. With premium garage the temp was around 50 and dropped when alt-tabbed out of the garage. So this garage update is not working very well. I have MSI GTX 660 Ti.

edit. All this with vertical sync on.

Thanks for the info, will keep that in mind if it happens again. For now I just installed the standard garage.

It's the over-used bloom effect and brightness.
Seriously, my white camo tanks look like they are going supernova  :teethhappy:

Also, don't underestimate the very advanced flag dynamics Wargaming programmed especially for this garage, they are influenced by wind forces and if you look carefully even by the prop-wash of the plane flying around with the banner :blinky:

Mine is running from 50%-70% GPU usage in game and whooping 100% in garage. Temps in game up to 78deg C and 90 in garage,......

Worked okay until today (in 8.4 that is) and now this,.....

GJ WG!

P.S.: Using GeForce GTX 465, driver version 310.90
