Italian Tanks Tree by DC Ariete.

True that. Not an Italian or expert, but if one considers what kind of armament a P26 and later P43 would sport - they'd both benefit from a safer MM, both a tier lower. Historically, the P26 had a gun about as good as a German 75mmL48 - in order to be an effective six, it'd need at least a 90mm. Similarly the P43 - to be a 7, it'd at least need some longer 90mm, ideally a 105.

You should also consider that italian tanks will be more vulnerable to HE than average due to riveted construction.
For higher tiers we do know that there are russian books about a heavy tank project competition in which ansaldo submitted at least one project (the only thing I know is that it was a 70 ton tank) so they might have a trick or two up their sleeve.

construction makes no difference in this game
just look at the Germans in comparison to the Russians

There is an hardcoded HE vulnerability factor in game so never say never...

the M42T and M43 Basotto are the same thing (according to the pics you've posted)
M42T -> M15/42 hull with 75/46 (75mm L46 - gun) for German operators (Tedesco), this is a M42 modified with the inclined plate. was built in 1943, so has also called M43 75/46 (11 built).

M43 -> M42 hull, built in 1943 with 105/25 (105mm L 25), no inclined plate (108 built).

"Carro di Rottura" must be the worst name for a tracked vehicle in recorded history.

absolutely true... it's an awkward literal translation of "breakthrough tank", but could also mean something like "rupture tank"... not very encouraging! why on earth they didn't call it "carro da sfondamento" remains beyond my comprehension...

Also, I sorda represent the Polish bunch, that has a similar stance as per the european tree.
The idea is to mount an international petition (signed/agreed upon by all interested parties) asking, that all the minor trees be indeed in one directory , but that each nation in it had their own (as long as historically plausible) tree with their own crew, modules, paint jobs and progression paths.
I'd very much appreciate Italian support in this since you guys at least had the time and expertise to build something more advanced than glorified tankettes. And if some Swedes, Hungarians, Romanians, Czechs or Slovaks are reading this - you're invited and encouraged to join in as well.

Thanks, but I already know that website.
My search was long and I have not used only google. I found a lot of information but I have not put everything into this thread. I can say "I found everything"
Now I'm working on italian tech tree for wowp.

I strongly support the idea of an Italian minitree. I would also suggest minitrees for Poland, Hungary, Romania etc. I dont think every tree must have 10 Tier levels. I have to admit I m not a big fan of all these prototypes. Everyone would be able to see.. a.. there are only X levels... so noone could complain later because there is no Tier 10.

Overlord said they would all be together becuase they are related
but that doesn't really work becuase 7TP, M11/39 and T-26 are all children of the Vickers 6 ton

Personally, I would prefer to see a separate, independent italian techtree (as to complete the Germany-Italy-Japan Axis group of tank trees). Besides, WG havent fallen short of imagination, considering that about half of the tanks ingame are either imaginary tanks (like the t28/t28p) or rare prototypes, at best. So, I guess they could fill the gaps pretty easily( and even add some mid-50's italian tanks)

Even if you can't get Tier 10's out of a nation tanks, I think some mini tech tree's even up to Tier 5 or 6 would be of interest to players and open up some interesting possibilities for some nations.

Did Italy try to design their own tanks after the war , or did they rely completely on american tanks? And which did they use, by the way?

I would never play with Italian tanks since they killed my ancestors.

the first italian post-war tank was the OF-40, based on the leopard, built in the 80's (way too late for Wot)
until then, we relied on US tanks, M47 Pattons right after the war, then we built licensed Leopards
