i thought there would be an event or special like there was on St Patrick's day ..i'm sure there are more british than irish players =) ..i just love the specials !

No one celebrates St. George's Day anymore - it got such a bad name in the 70's & 80's thanks to so many idiotic neo-nazi, no-necked pitbull owners who exist in England, that we pretty much ignore it.

Plus, unlike St. Patrick's Day, it's not promoted by a major drinks company.

And add to that that St. Patrick's day is also very popular in the US, making it a better known holiday in general (since a lot of people outside of the US watch US TV shows).
