Greetings, commanders!

First of all, sorry for my English, it's not perfect, but I'm trying to improve it every day! :)

I'm sure that many of you have heard about Lavaboy and his famous tank quiz. Well, I'm one of those lucky guys, who won his latest quiz, and I wondered about how could it be to organize a contest like that. So, welcome to my first Tank Quiz! :)

What is the contest about?
I selected 15 tanks from the game, and I made a screenshot of them. Then I cropped these pictures to 250x250 pixels. You have to guess which tanks can be seen in the pictures and then send your ingame nick and your answers to my email address: wottankquiz@gmail.com

For example:

Nick: buenonacho94
1. - T34
2. - IS
...

You can send as many emails as you want, but only the last one will count.
Deadline: 2013.05.01. - 20:00 CEST

What can you win?
An Alienware giveaway code, which includes:
  • 1000 gold
  • Premium consumables: 5 Automatic Fire Extinguishers, 5 Large Repair Kits, 5 Large Medical Kits
The code is available only for the EU server and until 31st July. Please note that you can redeem this code only once per account.

How will be the winner selected?
There will be exactly one winner. No more, no less. The player with most correct answers will be the winner (so, you don't have to guess all the tanks to win). If more than one have the most correct answers, I'll raffle the code between the winners, using random numbers (with the help of http://www.random.org/).

And finally, the quiz (the picture is resized, click for the original one):

Please don't post your answers here!

Good luck and have fun :)

While the initiative is great, I belive that the pictures are a bit hard to figure out. Also, if some are high tiers, you will close the door to a lot of players since we need to have the tank in order to find those exact angles and I really doubt it someone could have all 15.

( I think I can guess up to 5, but that is it)

Well, the images aren't easy, that's true. But hey, if they're hard to guess for one, they're hard to guess for everyone :)

And yes, there are some high tier tanks, but you don't have to have that tank in your garage. There's a program called Wot Tank Viewer, feel free to use it :)

So you make people jump through hoops for a code that was free?

Looking up pictures on internet is hard. Especially when you have ~4 days to look them up.

You literally have all the sources you can find. And the pictures arent black&white, nor are they from outside sources.

The code was free, that's true, but not every player managed to get one. I think this contest is a second chance for those players.
If you think this is about jumping through hoops, you have the right not to participate. This quiz was created to have fun while searching for the tanks, and the code is for motivational purposes.

Well I guess I spend a lot of time aiming for weakspots like these in some of my tanks. But no way will I get many of them at all, I think it may be just a little too difficult.

I think I know 1, 4, 6, 7 and 11.

Well, at least tell others who didn't figured out yet that if they managed 2 days ago to get the code from AlienWare to not bother since it can't be used twice.

Awsome buenonacho!

I spent hours tried to redeem this code but site was kinda overloaded, some people got few codes and I eventually didn't get one. Now I have my 2nd chance and I will surely give it a shot although I don't feel very confident about it ;)

Good luck every one and big thanks to you bueno!

Please dont tell me that you got multiple codes from the giveaway just for this, if so then that is pretty damn crappy thing to do.

Let me guess this straight. You want me to spend hours upon hours on the internet trying to find pictures so maybe I could have a chance to match them with these? I strongly belive you won`t be able to find every possible angle of every possible tank in WoT. Also, most pictures will be zoomed out while you need closely zoomed pictures to be able to compare the detailes. You, and may I dare, the OP, fail to understand the meaning of a fun little game in which everyone can participate with a little effort. This involves alot of effort and all for a lousy 1000 gold. That is like what, 3 euro? Are you willing to spend who knows how many hours just for 3 euro? Work an eight hours shift and you can buy yourself at least a tier 8 premium, better value for your time.

WoT Tank Viewer is no longer supported and I never managed to get any of the old versions to work and I`m pretty sure a lot of people have the same problems as me. Also, a lot of people have no idea about this program.

If it were up to me, I would make everyone post in a topic saying they are interested in the code. Have a defined interval and after the posting period finishes you then choose someone with what ever method you want. It feels to much hussle for not much tbh.

Don`t get me wrong, I do appreciate your effort and your initiative, but I`m thinking there are better ways to do this.

A person whose life is so brilliant and efficient is telling me to value my time better, himself writing long posts instructing me how I waste my time?  :teethhappy:
If you're not interested in the topic then why don't you leave it to people who are?

And I'm sure there are a lot of people who:
1. missed the giveaway
2. are underage (don't have bank account & don't work yet)
3. have stone age parents that won't let you use internet for payments due to it being unsafe (duuhhh)

And doing a straight up giveaway is less fun than making a quiz for it. Not the case for those who want free things for zero effort.

http://www.rextimmy....iewer_0_4_1.zip

Here, a working version of Wot Tank Viewer. Download it, unzip, then you can start the program with the .exe located in bin folder. In the preferences you can choose your WOT directory, and done! :)
