Sure, because World of Tanks is the only tank related thing ever

I'm sure the series is just made by tank enthusiasts.

I'm still waiting for a mod that will replace the exploding of tanks with a little white flag popping up when a tank's defeated.

If it would be inspired by World of Tanks the anime would be filled with blueprint and completely made up tanks.
The only thing close to that was a working Maus tank and that at least existed partially.

I still enjoyed the anime for what it is.

True, all tanks in GuP existed in one way or another.

E-100 also exited, in chassis form. Also the VK3001(H) and VK3601(H) existed, hulls completed but turrets sent to add to the defences of the Atlantic wall. Also I want to see the T-54 in GuP, since GuP rules means that tanks built prior to 1945 would be able to participate  such as the T-54 which had a prototype in 1944. The Centurion would be allowed, it's prototype dates back to January 1945.

And yes, I know too much for my own good  :teethhappy:

Just a chassis doesn't make a complete tank. The Maus was a complete tank (and it's sitting in Russia ever since it was salvaged and pieced back together) and even the Porsche Tiger was a complete tank (picture). The E-100 never got its turret, neither did the other tanks you mention. They were unfinished prototypes, and I guess that's why they aren't featured in GuP.

Also, I think they went with the Maus because unlike the E-100, that looks like a bloated Tiger-II tank with a very ugly turret, the Maus is quite different from anything ever seen. There wasn't anything like it before, and there will never be anything like it ever again. The Maus is unique in the fact that it's the only 188 Ton tank that ever moved on its own and that's just pure awesomeness right there.

I know a chassis doesn't make a complete tank, but it does mean it existed

I suppose, but I guess the GuP makers decided only to include tanks that actually existed at one point in time.

I really hope there'll be a second season though. On the other hand, I still have to read the manga.

Is the Manga in English? And if so where can I get it?

Me too. I'd love to see some rare (but existing) tanks in it though.

It's being scanlated but I doubt it's legal to point you to it. I'm sure you can google it by looking for "Girls und Panzer English manga" or something of the likes.

How many GuP threads we have now ?

Must have missed the other threads

Edit: then again, compared to all the "omg arty sucks" and "omg why wasn't my countries flag in the 2nd b-day garage" threads, 6 isn't too bad

GuP was pretty amazing...
