I think it's better.  Best bookmark http://forum.worldof...rum/1467-forum/ and you can jump off from there.  Before there was a lot of down and up.

The last change before this change was a good one but this is just horrible. The design must have come directly from minsk, it is so bizarre :D

This is frankly quite stupid.

How on earth is making is MORE difficult (more clicking, small print headings, etc) an "improvement"

Has no one there ever heard of testing before release?

I can see why they did it, but yeah, there needs to be a link to the 'Gameplay Discussion' for each nationality from the main forum page.

It takes some time to find everything again but it isn't that hard. And once you found your way, not much has changed.

I like it.

Last time to many non English speaking players on the general chat in their native language.
Getting negrepped to kingdom come and verbally abused for asking a question. Yes in the wrong section, but if the use their own language I dodn't think they could read the instructions in the first place.

Usability? Urgh. English is the official language is it not?  I thought they had broken the server, seems like something broke in their heads, having to go down through three levels to reach content?

Damn, have any of the people responsible for the forum done any UI design work before? I want to steer clear if so.
It worked before,  but with the language section at the top, the number of non English posts had dropped.

I wonder why they couldn't have had it like it was for each language with the option to hide the other languages?

Please change it back.
Or did someone think - make the forum navigation hard, less noobs whining there.

Not in best mood...just in from a defeat streak...the game is not rigged, the game is not rigged, the game is not rigged, it's just me sucking at it. Telling myself, keep repeating that.

I have to agree with most of you: if player cant find his way around..that says something, but when you have multiple moderators looking and wondering around, trying to find their sections.. then - something is not good  :teethhappy:

My suggestion to you is to contact community managers and speak with them and try to explain that it is difficult to navigate in new layout.
We will do the same.

I got neg repped by over 140 points for writing a reply to a German post in English recently.

http://forum.worldof...29#entry4869929

All I did was point out in a polite fashion that it was really tedious to see a post titled in English and open it only to find it is in a language I don't speak.

I simply requested that they titled the post in their own language and so it did exactly what it said on the tin but you know the Germans no sense of humour.

I suppose at least while they were hating on me it gave some other minority groups a break. It is part of their greater plan to annexe the English speaking forum perhaps.

In short if dividing the forum in a way that prevents me opening English titled posts that are in fact written in a language only spoken by square headed leather short wearing scat porn making sunbed stealing humourless autocrats then I'm all for it.

"I mentioned it once but I think I got away with it"

I think it was an effort to please everyone(language wise) but its just a mess at the moment.
If the community managers that made this change actually read the forum more often, they would have seen(as I have) that many players who speak English as a second language are in the majority, speak it very well and don't need help to navigate.

As BigBadVuk says.......if the mods are having trouble......it can't be the best layout.

Just to clarify my first comments - the problem is that things have almost been 'hidden' away under the various segregations layers and it makes navigating to and then between specific areas of forums a bit of a nightmare.  Sure I can bookmark the main area (although I am less keen on doing that at work) but that is essentially a fix for what I think is poor forum layout.

With the previous layout you could come to the forum and most people would be able to find the area they wanted with 1 click... perhaps 2 to get into some of the more specialised areas but now I have to sit there, weigh up which seems the most appropriate place and then take the lunge - maybe I will get to where I want to be (or closer at least!) but on my first attempt it took me a few wrong turns to get where I wanted to be.  Sure I will get used it... but is this how you want to greet new users to the forum?

I also think that the top level segregation into region specific forums is a bad idea - it might look like as an English speaker I am stomping my feet but my experience of Gameplay Discussion is that there are more people who post on there that do not speak English as their primary language than there are people who do!  I understand and like the fact that there are forums to allow all people from all EU region countries communicate about the game.  However, the fact that the English language Gameplay Discussion forum sat outside of language communities seemed to be a logical decision that provides a more inclusive platform for communication.

I don't feel I am explaining my thoughts very well but hopefully people reading this will understand, and if not I can try and explain again!

Also, the renaming of Gameplay Discussion to General Discussion just adds to my general level of confusion.

p.s. the top level link to other languages appears to be broken: http://forum.worldof...ther-languages/

EDIT: have language specific clan recruitment sections always existed?  I must admit I have never looked as the 'English' clan recruitment forum always had posts in multiple languages.  Now, should we have posts in other language areas as well?  As much as we require English speakers on teamspeak, over half of our clan are not UK players...

Finding something is one problem.
More clicking and page loading is second one. It's a horrible waste of time. I rather scroll some more than wait for page to load (I have 12 Mbit/s connection but forum doesn't work smooth all the time). People on mobile devices will be angry too - it's more comfortable to scroll with touchscreens than click all the time.

Sure, I can make a bookmarks for every thread/board I visit but what it would be mess and too much effort. Also, managing many bookmarks isn't comfortable at all.

Typical scenario of me visiting the forum with the old layout:
First I check new content and followed threads. Then I go back to the main page, scroll down and enter boards I'm interested in for example: news discussion, gameplay discussion, tanks boards, polish section and finally mods sections. So easy and fast - one click and I could see content of the board. I could go back fast and proceed to scroll down.

Now I enter one board, then board inside the first board and then finally I can reach the board with threads I'm interested in.

Doesn't it sound a little retarded?

Hurr, durr, let's hide everything from the front page and make ppl struggle because it's not like the front pages are there to provide easy access to everything else.
